The room was spacious. The bathtub water was warm not hot. The bathroom had no ventilation and only a sliding door for privacy. The "king" bed was two small beds put together, and you could feel the bedframe poking you in the middle where the two beds met. The balcony was great. We found a fake glue-on eyelash on our blanket. After telling the hotel that we found it but didn't need a fresh cleaning, all they said was sorry. The tap water is not drinkable, and the hotel will only give a single water bottle at check-in, and then tell you to buy your own water from the local grocery store. Water was 6 euro per bottle at the restaurants. The food was good, but limited and very expensive. We visited the local plaza (5 minutes walk from the hotel) every day for all of our meals because the prices were half those of the hotel. The area is extremely isolated. It is great for the peaceful beach and only that. You will need a car to see the rest of the island, due to the large hills. We rented a car from the hotel and booked "a small car" in advance. They confirmed we would have a VW polo. When we arrived, they had booked it for someone else and replaced our booking with a large SUV. We refused to drive it on the small roads, and they did not offer to compensate for the situation this caused us. We had a small Hyundai for 1 day since that was all the time it was available for. We had initially booked a car for 4 days. "Angel" at reception was kind. The rest left no impression.

Very limited evening catering available - only one extremely expensive Gourmet restaurant, which whilst lovely, is well over €150 for two persons! The town has very few evening options, so there is a need for reasonably priced, “everyday” meals to be available at the hotel, past 5pm.

We had a wonderful stay at this Villa Resort. The room was clean, with daily housekeeping. The Villa we stayed in was fairly new and didn’t have many kitchen amenities, such as frying pan or pots. The grounds are well kept and the beach is amazing, EXCEPT one of the beach staff were rude. My suggestion to the resort is to ASSIGN chairs for the week, to each villa. This way, you don’t go to the beach and he tells you “ sorry I’m full” at 11:00am. We could clearly see empty chairs but he was dismissive. Assigning would solve this problem. I get the feeling that $$ may play apart in this, if you pay extra, they give you better seats. There is no reasoning how they give you different seats every day. I think they could cut out a lot of the BS by assigning chairs ( and I don’t care if I’m in the front row either!). This would be easier on the staff, less stressful, and free them up for beach service. Improve staff by improving the process. The rest of the staff and all the people we encountered were amazing and helpful. The resort is in a gated community, has a beautiful calm beach, a few restaurants and shops, as well as a convenience shop which was helpful. It is located in Anse Marcel, which is a secluded, beautiful Bay, surrounded by mountains, it’s stunning! We loved being so close to the marina, easy to catch a boat tour, and just a fantastic vibe! I would highly recommend this resort. Rent a car! I don’t think I’d ever stay on the Dutch side. Busy, busy city.

We enjoyed staying at Anse Marcel with its beautiful sandy beach. The hotel room was clean, well equipped and it had a lovely view from the spacious balcony. The AMB restaurant had excellent food and great service.

We had a beautiful view of the bay from our room and patio. The grounds are well kept and our room was spotless and well appointed. We had a short walk to the beach, which was beautiful and the water was very calm. Highly recommend.

This was a nice place to stay for a couple of nights but I would not stay longer because there is just not much around in the immediate area. Only a couple of restaurants and one of them is the hotel's. The staff were difficult to communicate with over messages before arrival but in person were lovely, especially Astrid who was super helpful. The facilities and room were good. The beachfront access was great. Overall, I am glad that we stayed here.

If you are looking for a slow, relaxing vacation, this place is perfect. Everything you need is on site (restaurants, beach chairs and towels, pool). The room was pretty good, plenty of space and storage for two people. The room was cleaned daily which was great. The only con to this place is the drive there. It’s quite the winding road that leads you to the hotel, a bit scary to drive at night. So if you’re looking to stay put, it’s great. We drove to Grande Case almost daily for food, so if you need more than a (pricey with a small menu) on site restaurant or the Italian place next door, you will definitely need a car. Tons of great food in Grand Case. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The beach was great, the staff was kind and helpful. It seems like they may still be recovering from hurricanes and storms so there is some construction in some rooms but it didn’t really bother us.

Everything was wonderful. Room was quiet and calm, nice view from balcony, a bit outdated but part of the charm. It's clean and all staff was absolutely wonderful. Well worth the money and the beach is the best on the island
