"Staff are approchable and went to the trouble of wishing one of our party birthday wishes following a throw away comment about the reason for our visit. There was a wedding function the weekend we stayed and there was no distruption or loud noises. Very relaxed atmosphere and very good breakfast. The evening menu is a little limited in choice but we found the quality of food good."

"After the hustle and bustle of the city, Chapel of Barras was just what the Dr. ordered. I’m traveling for pleasure, but also to finish a book I’ve been putting off, and this was a perfect stop. It was peaceful, quiet, perfect for my early morning yoga—followed by a delightful and filling homemade breakfast—a couple hours walking, then plenty of uninterrupted time to put pen to paper. Michelle and David were especially lovely: 10/10 would recommen. "

"Stayed overnight at a very good rate while attending a concert at the P&J nearby. Very warm welcome from receptionist, room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good if a little chaotic when so many arrived at once, but staff were excellent and efficient in dealing with the rush. Very impressed and would definitely stay again."

"Lovely room but sadly no hot water in the morning to have showers. Staff apologised but didn’t seem to take onboard that our stay was spoiled.Food at lunchtime was delicious but breakfast wasn’t the same standard. "

"We were in room 12 which was lovely and warm as always, love the shower in the Bathroom power shower ample hot water, and nice comfy bed, this wasn't our first stay there as, we love the friendly atmosphere and the staff are very helpful, great views especially from the resturant with it's picture windows looking out onto the North Sea. Looking foward to our stay later in the year again, might opt for one of the sea view rooms which are slightly bigger in size. A cooked breakfast is included or...

"The hotel was great, it is years since I stayed here and I must admit I was a bit dubious but it was fantastic. We stayed as a family with grandchildren etc and the staff could not be more welcoming and very friendly. We will certainly be returning."

"Lovely location and looks like a good gym although didn’t have time to use. No one available at bar etc as limited staff but got served. Extra charge for late check out and breakfast average, not cooked fresh on order"

"Everything was good. the only downside was a poor evening menu which meant we had to go out to eat every night. It needed to be more varied and more offerings. we have stayed at other Holiday Inn Expresses before who offered a really good evening menu."

"The location is convenient, staff are super friendly and food in the restaurant is very good. But the problem is that the rooms are not at all noise proof and the temperature controls are useless. I had a sleepless night in a cold and noisy room."

"Wanted to use the gym, didnt as it was only open after 8am due to it being "amongst rooms and it makes noise"....move it then! Room was clean and spacious, it was cold on entry, but did warm up with heating. Gym not being open was a disappointment. Website said open from 7am, staff said not open until 8am."
