"Beautiful setting along a long single track. Lovely grounds. Huge rooms, quite dated but clean with nice views. We had Matthews 4 course meal which was nice but quite expensive. Straight forward breakfast. Guest lounge, looking towards Loch. Small tv in room."

Anchor Hotel

Anchor Hotel

8/10 Good
"The Anchor was a convenient stay for us as we needed to be close to the ferry to take us to Isla. The staff were very pleasant and check-in was easy. Parking was across the street and convenient as well. The rooms are very small and dated but clean and comfortable. There is a pub next door and many people were enjoying the World Cup so it got pretty noisy but we were able to sleep. We had a fabulous dinner in the Anchor's restaurant. I have a shellfish allergy and they were able to accommodate. Tarbert is a wee fishing town so there isn't much going on but we enjoyed walking around and climbed the hill to see the old castle which gave spectacular views. We wandered in a few shops and had nice chats with everyone. Breakfast was spectacular and we left for Isla well rested and ready for our journey. Thank you!"

The Creggans Inn

10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely loved our stay at The Creggans Inn. The hotel is in a stunning location right on the lochside with ample parking and reasonably hidden secure parking for our motorcycles. The check in was faultless and the rooms immaculate and very, very big with massive bathrooms. The food was really good with a reasonable choice, We rated highly the comprehensive breakfast with ample juice, tea and coffee, Delicious fruit salad, hearty Scottish cooked breakfast and pastries ( although not all in one sitting!). Overall our stay was fabulous and I highly recommend The Creggens Inn to others."
