"For a contactless check-in method, the staff were very accessible -easy to communicate with; the method was great.
The room was wonderful. The breakfast was excellent. I met the owners and staff the morning after I checked in (late @ 11:45pm). They couldn't have been more hospitable.
I stayed at the Walnut Inn out of necessity, attending a friend's father's funeral, and the Inn could not have been a better place for me to stay. I can imagine others enjoying it for its warmth, decor (fresh rustic farmhouse?), fresh breakfast and location to Amherst and surrounding area/towns/sites."
"We were in town to see a sick relative and this hotel was not only convenient to get to but the parking was superb- there was coffee available 24/7 and the daily breakfast was outstanding! Always delicious muffins-and not with the fake fruit that is sometimes used in hotels! The hot tub was amazing although the pool was cold! The staff were friendly and welcoming! The bed was very comfortable and room was nicely decorated!"
"My wife, daughter and I just stayed here for a couple of nights to check out UMass and overall we liked the Inn and would stay here again, but there were a few things lacking.
Pros:
-Great location in the heart of Amherst which feels like it’s part of Amherst College. Charming Inn in a charming town.
- Friendly and helpful staff. They asked us about our stay, we’re happy to make recommendations and genuinely wanted to ensure our stay was pleasant.
- Very clean and well maintained. For an older Inn everything was cleaned and well taken care of.
-The room was well decorated and had a nice warm feeling to it, as did the many areas of the Inn where you could sit and relax.
Cons:
-While the room size was fine for 2 double beds the bathroom was microscopic, you could wash your hands while on the toilet. There was also no fan either.
- The restaurant was a bit of a disappointment. It’s lovely and the bar is great but the food was overpriced and not done very well. It’s an area that could definitely be improved.
-The parking situation and overall accessibility could be improved. Parking is included but it’s in the back of the hotel down a bit of a hill and there’s no rear entrance into the Inn. This wasn’t a problem for us but people with mobility challenges may have some difficulty.
Overall we really liked the Inn as it had a great charm, great staff and you could walk to everything in downtown Amherst."
"The hotel was very clean and the owner payed attention to details. The community room was inviting with coffee and snacks available at all times. Our room was pristine and she added special touches. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others"
"We got there late and didn't interact with any staff. The keys were taped to something in the office. My husband went in to check in. Bed was comfortable, ac worked well."
"What a cool, fun, and unique place! The cabins were adorable and beautifully furnished with such attention to detail. Super clean, and very comfortable. The whole theme and vibe is fantastic. Cannot recommend this place enough!"
"We've used this hotel before and are always satisfied. This visit the elevator was down, but it was fine we have no health issues. Free breakfast everyday was good. Coffee is very good as I am a bit fussy when it comes to coffee. Some updates to the facility are needed but otherwise it's fine. Staff is always nice"
