The hotel is old and dirty. Bed underneath the memory foam mattress was filled with grit and black spots. Carpet had black spots on it. Shower holder did not work. Sink had calcium build up, thus the water shot out strongly. Doors are not soundproof, my deadbolt lock did not work. The chain lock was hanging by the screws. Neighbor was on the phone till late into the morning. 3-4 am. Soundproofing was poor, I could hear what they were saying clearly through the walls and it stopped me from sleeping. Athabasca has limited dining spots and feels overall unsafe.

Such an awful stay. They were at a third capacity (being generous) put all the guests on the same floor. Our atay started off great but then as we were going to sleep (around 130 ish) our neighbors showed up and decided they were going to party. We called down to the desk, a gentleman came to their door and told them they had to be quiet, 20 min pass they start up again. Keep in mind you can hear every word and noise happening on the other side of the wall, and I do mean every sound! My husband called front desk, no answer, some time passes, I go and ask them to be quiet, 20 min later starts up again, husband calls the desk, no answer. This goes on till 430am when we decide to leave. The rooms are deffinot sound proof and they dont have enough staff. Other then that great beds. Pretty clean

Do not stay here if you have a choice
Just truly awful. For a big hotel chain it was like stepping back in time. Shower and jacuzzi barely worked and definitely didn’t work enough to use them. TVs didn’t work as they were internet based channels to save money. The group of creepy old men hitting on the one staff member off shift in the lobby was clearly a regular occurrence there and the fact they had no cutlery accessible to any of the rooms was pretty pathetic too

Staff was friendly and accommodating. We’re a family of 6, so I wish they had a family suite as an available option. That being said, we were able to rent 2 cots. It was tight, but it worked. The continental breakfast was a joke. No eggs/bacon/sausage. Waffle maker was turned off. The available food options were brown bananas, stale pancakes and muffins, cereal and frozen pre-packaged wraps and egg sandwiches that were gas station quality. The breakfast included was one of the bigger reasons we booked here.

After recently staying at the days inn for 2 nights, we really appreciated how welcoming they were to pets. The free breakfast was good and very convenient for feeding our toddler without leaving the hotel first thing in the morning. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and happy to answer any questions we had. The hotel was very quiet which was truly a breath of fresh air. An item of which required more attention was the overall cleanliness of our room. The shelf in the closet was covered in a thick layer of dust and the area under the coffee table appeared untouched from a vacuum and was covered in dead bugs.

I only stay here out of necessity because it’s only slightly better than the other options. I wish the local hotels would some effort into some cleanliness at the very least. It’s not hard to tell theyve cheaped out on proper cleaning when you can smell the stale mops and rags used to swirl the dirt around. Not to mention no effort to replace ripped bed skirts and curtains. Not everyone that needs a place to stay in Athabasca is a trucker or construction worker.

The hotel is fine, the complimentary breakfast is better than most. The hotel is showing signs of wear and tear and renovations should be made. The parking lot should be cleaned this would help with one’s first impressions. Overall our stay for two nights was fine the beds were comfortable.
