"This is a cracking flat within a short walk of Dumfries town centre. From the outside, the flats don’t look too inspiring, but it’s clearly been renovated recently and it’s been done really nicely. The two rooms are pretty much identical doubles, and the living room/kitchen is a good size. Nice views of the river from most rooms, and a lovely small balcony coming off the main living area. Would definitely come back if in the area."

The restaurant, coffee shop and breakfast room mentioned in the right up were all part of the motorway services. Costa was good for breakfast. Only minor downside was that the gentleman who booked me in said it was room only, whereas when I booked through hotels.com it said free breakfast. I should have queried it with him, but I let it slide as everything else was perfect. Maybe the owner needs to check the advertisement on hotels.com? Otherwise, couldn't recommend enough. I would happily stay again on my next visit."

"The hotel is a lovely wee quirky hotel. The room was surprisingly large considering how narrow the hotel is! The bed was really comfortable. The Scottish breakfast was cooked to order, tasty and generous. Staff were lovely. Only thing to bear in mind is that the restaurant & bar don’t stay open late, so plan accordingly in the evening. Other really convenient aspect is that street parking is free."
