Best Western Chicago - Downers Grove

8/10 Good

"This hotel is in a great location and the staff is fantastic however the rooms need some work. The bed was comfortable and the bed was clean however, there’s a lot of wear and tear on the doors and quite honestly if you look on the floor around the baseboards in the room, there’s dust where the vacuum is missing. The only other downside is it is right next to the expressway, so I thought it was very loud at night when trying to sleep. But that’s the trade-off you get for the location amenities."

"Warm welcome by front desk and personnel despite late arrival. Front desk and online team responsive and pro-active. Washroom rather crammed given double queen room (single vanity, yet room can hold up to 4 / separate toilet-bathtub combo space tight). Navigating the hotel is not simple despite the signage. The distances are significant to reach the ‘towers’; the inclines are tricky when transporting one’s own luggage on a cart and maneuvering in and out of elevator. Access to rooms (lower level - like on a ship with no windows) felt claustrophobic, confusing. Balcony view onto golf course nice. Breakfast buffet available ($22 pp). Parking ($10) should be free for guests. An additional $20 ‘resort fee’ was difficult to reason. Peaceful night’s sleep, nonetheless."
