However the down side was firstly the hotel was very difficult to find and you should make guests aware before booking that the restaurant is not onsite but in a sister hotel quite a walk away involving a steep hill up ...

I did not stay at the hotel due to a flight change by the airline. A week before arrival, I requested a cancellation or a credit transfer to friends traveling with us, but this was not allowed. I cannot comment on the hotel itself, only on the lack of flexibility in this situation.
