Learn more about Azrou

Nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains, Azrou's cedar forests are home to Barbary macaques that approach visitors for treats. Shop for authentic Berber carpets at the weekly souk, then hike to nearby Cèdre Gouraud Forest where ancient trees tower overhead.

We stopped to see the Barbary Apes this day. We spent about 45 minutes feeding them apples. There were a range in sizes from very young to pretty darn big. They were very gentle and inquisitive. They had the softest hands! I'm guessing they knew the secret of Argon oil before the rest of the world!
