Clean room and bathroom. Could use a couple touch ups on paint in a couple areas, nothing too drastic. You have to check in at a different location than the hotel, but it’s not far away. Beds were comfortable. Nice photos on the wall from Quebec.

Le Boreal is orphan of Motel Hauterive

It was our first stay at this establishment but third stay altogether with its sister establishment Motel Hauterive. It served its purpose but beware that if you are staying at Le Boreal, you will need to travel 200 meters (yes meters) to the front desk, ice, soft drinks, and breakfast! Hence, should we ever return to Baie Comeau, we will stay at the Motel Hauterive (and not Boreal), after all great service from the owners (who own both establishments).

To check in you have to cross the boulevard to the main hotel and to get you’re continental breakfast still have to cross that boulevard and it was ordinary no variety.

For over $200 a night for a 1970’s motel is crazy. Take some money and invest into remodelling! The fact that you have to go to a completely different hotel in another location to check into this place is beyond crazy! And you have to call to fine this out. Will never stay here again. Sleeping in my vehicle would have been better.

The motel was convenient to get too, however there was a note on the door to go back out and across the street to another hotel to register and for breakfast. The room floor was very sticky.

Arrived at 3:50pm for check in (after 4 pm) and was told that the room wasn't ready. We were hot from hiking so decided to go to dinner first. Came back around 5:30 and was given a key to room 59. (And yes, you have to cross the street to another hotel to get the keys). Opened the door and the room had not been cleaned. The lone cleaner contacted the management who came with a key to another room which also was not ready. Third try at room 61 and the room was ready, although the floors were wet at least it had been cleaned. The towels were thread bare and the ac was old and noisy. Bed was okay pillows were very thick. The biggest failure was the included breakfast. When we arrived at 7:20 there was no coffee, the cheese containers in the fridge were almost empty, there was no tea (they don't offer it) The fridge had some juice and we took the last two yogurts. Bread was white and they offered peanut butter and jam in those little containers. Small apples in the fridge for fruit. (Apparently the rooms were not ready because

Save your money

Breakfast very disapointing, no service at le boréal since they closed the front desk, without any mention in the description of the establishment. This measure has been on place for a long time now, apparently it is still covid's fault. For the same amount of money other establishment offer a better service and amnedities. No compensation was offered for the fact that clients have to go to another motel than le boréal to have breakfast and service.

Ça n’est pas un lit double en plus que j’ai payé pour une personne supplémentaire lorsque j’étais seul. La réception n’est pas joignable, elle n’est même pas dans la même bâtisse. Ce matin je n’ai pas déjeuner le « déjeuner continental » il n’y avais rien à part du café et du fromage en cube. Il ne restais même plus de pain …..
