"This was a great, reasonably priced hotel with underground parking for our DC visit. The staff was friendly, especially in the dining room. We stopped for a drink most evenings and enjoyed the bar and waitstaff's camaraderie; they remembered us, the couple on a last-minute vacation, even though a corporate event took over the place for a few days. We ate dinner there a few times and found the traditional pub-food menu perfect after a long day of nonstop walking and my unwillingness to take another step (20,000+ steps each day).
Breakfast offerings were good, though they poured only half a cup of coffee, which didn't satisfy the first cup of the day.
We didn't use the pool area, as the weather was cool and rainy, though it looked like a nice place to relax if the weather had been nice.
It was an easy walk down 14th Street to the McPherson Metro station, which we used to get around the city every day. (Stop at the Brown Bag for breakfast and coffee). And local restaurants were easy to access, with a few only 5 minutes down the street.
There was much to enjoy in DC, and our home base at the Washington Plaza Hotel was a great location and a pleasant experience."
