The issues in isolation aren’t too bad, but combined, it has left us disappointed: * brought to our room 20 minutes after check in because it wasn’t ready. * The shower was clogged. "We love off the beaten path places to stay. This place was lovely right next to a nature preserve with a gorgeous view of the cliffs on the ocean. The beach is not easily accessible. The staff is what really made the place stand out. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and give us suggestions for restaurants and excursions. I would highly recommend."

"It is a very secluded area. They have a cart to get you to the beach and shops. Most all the stores are cash only."

"Very basic accommodation. Ac was fine. Wifi was fine. Hot water was fine. No fridge for cold drinks. A bit of a sewer gas issue. Main complaint: very little soundproofing between rooms. I could hear my neighbours clearly (even snoring at night). Great location though. Relatively quiet street but still close to the old town and marina."

"Staff is friendly. There is a hotel section and an apartment section at this property which is very new. We stay in an apartment which is very cleanly maintained. The sea view apartment has a great view. Kitchen was well equipped except that there was no pan among the utensils. We see a paper towel rack but no paper towel. "The Bel Mar was great. The rooms were very spacious. Not only was it a nice hotel it was also a great value. There was a washing machine in the unit too which the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff was helpful. Multiple pools, great view, easy walk to the beach, convenient on site parking.
