"The pictures on the site do not represent the reality of this hotel. It’s currently very run down and in need of lots of work. We stayed for 3 nights, we only had 3 towels and although we asked for more twice, were not given any and they weren’t changed during our stay. The bathroom looked new but unfinished. There was nowhere to put shampoo etc. in the shower, the floor was slippy (I bought a rubber mat for them) the toilet flush was dodgy and neither the fan or light above the mirror worked....

Very atmospheric place bang in the middle of the town great access on foot to all amenities. A 10 minute stroll to the Castle and the excellent car park. Breakfast was first class value. "The meals were excellent both for quality and price, staff very helpful. The bed was comfortable however the windows did not close entirely. It was quite warm so not a major problem for us but the windows needed refurbishment so they be opened or closed easily. The electric shower was very weak. These issues were relatively minor given the pluses of staff, food and comfortable beds"

"Look, don't get me wrong, it's not terrible by any means. It's just that for a hotel that's trying to play at this level, it struggles with some of the basics. If you're having a short stay there's no housekeeping by default, (which they don't tell you when you arrive) but there's only a small (non-heated) towel rail, so you're going to have soggy towels on day 2. Yes, there was a (small) sign in reception saying this, but it's the kind of thing it would be good for the receptionist to...

"We stayed one night at the Tempus. The decor was beautiful, the bed comfortable, the food was very good, and the staff were friendly. The problem with the place is style over substance. While beautifully decorated and large, the lighting in the room was a nightmare. There simply wasn't enough nor was it in the right places. The wet room was even worse. The mirrors were not placed properly, there wasn't enough light to see yourself properly and if one were to take a shower the entire room...
