We picked Abbaye de Maizieres because it looked interesting. The experience far exceeded our expectations and our expectations were high. Great staff. . .very welcoming and helpful. Betty, Emilie and Thibault were each top notch. We knew they do not have an elevator, but that was not an impediment. . .they were very helpful on that count also. The breakfast was first class. . .we had never had a candlelight breakfast before. They helped with dinner reservations as well. The hotel was easily within walking distance of everything in Beaune. We certainly will return.

beautiful old building. Bijou hotel perfect for exploring Beaune.No restaurant but lots of good restaurants nearby. Good breakfast.

The stairway is challenging for someone in decent shape. However, the upper floor rooms are daunting. The room assigned as premium had a steep staircase to the bed. If one had to get up in the middle of the night, it is actually treacherous.

We thank you for your comment and are sorry to see your dismay at the typicality of the place. Indeed the whole building can also be described as daunting, it dates from the 12th century. Our hotel is atypical, which gives it its charm and its appeal which we believe contributed to your choice; note that our hostess took care of taking your luggage up to the 3rd floor before your arrival to be pleasant to you (you had two rooms, one without a mezzanine).Aside from the stairs, we hope you were satisfied with the rest of the amenities facilities.Despite your disappointment, we hope you do not regret your stay with us.Best Regards,

There is no elevator and the stairs are are steep and old. They should let folks know that before they book. The first floor has easier stairs.

We are sorry to learn that you were not completely satisfied with your stay.Our stairs are indeed old and steep because they are of the age of the building: 12th Century (we are a "historic hotel" as indicated on the presentation page of our hotel).The absence of an elevator is well indicated on our hotel page. You would have been known this information if you had clicked on “accessibility” before you book. Please note, however, that one of our receptionists, a lady, kindly helped you by carrying your luggage (3 pieces) to your 2 rooms.

Bien situé mais pas le bon accueil!
Nous sommes arrivés à l’hôtel dimanche après-midi et avons eu un accueil vraiment particulier… caché derrière le comptoir d’accueil, le réceptionniste nous a parlé comme si nous étions des enfants, discours inadapté, pas à l’hauteur de l'établissement ( « n’appuyer pas sur ce bouton, je n’ai pas envie de me relever cette nuit pour dépanner le chauffage! »). Lieu sombre et manque de convivialité.

Nous sommes arrivés dimanche en fin de journée l homme qui était à la réception nous a à peine accueilli il avait la tête baissée, il à fallu lui demander les clés . Aujourd’hui à notre départ Emmanuelle très sympathique heureusement qu’elle était là pour remonter le niveau.

Tout simplement magnifique
Un hôtel avec du cachet. Les voûtes de l’ancienne abbaye sont superbes et les chambres décorées avec goût. Le personnel est très sympathique et drôle (le monsieur du soir était génial ) . La piscine est superbe … Bref, on reviendra et on en parlera autour de nous.

Gute Lage, wenig Komfort
Kleines Hotel mit viel historischem Charme an sehr guter Lage. Alles ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen. Zimmer nur mühsam über eine enge Wendeltreppe erreichbar (bis drei Stockwerke). Unser „Deluxe Doppelzimmer“ war extrem klein, kaum Platz für Gepäck, Schlafbereich über sehr Steile Treppe, eher Leiter) erreichbar, dafür mit schöner Aussicht über die Dächer von Beaune. Bedingt empfehlenswert.

Great place to stay. Small but lovely indoor pool. The ladies who run it are real pros but also very likable and helpful always. No elevator and very steep challenging stairs so be prepared.

This is an amazing property. It HAS NO ELEVATOR! I was on the top (3) floor which over 60 steps up the original stone spiral staircase. I’m not going to lie; it’s a workout. The place is worth the sweat. Modern infused with Antiquity and a heated pool. (Might have been a tad too warm). Walking distance from the train station and to great shopping, dining, and attractions. The breakfast is made to order and we’ll executed. The staff is impeccable. They’re very knowledgeable about the hotel and the area. Great little wine bar downstairs too.

The Abbaye De Maizieres was an absolutely amazing hotel. It is an extremally beautiful property that is close to everything Beaune has to offer. And the staff were also all incredible to deal with.

Beautiful and cozy renovation of a 12th century Abbey. We had a lovely large room with a king bed, beautiful bathroom and sitting area. Close to all attractions of the old town. Near the ram parts for strolling. Parking was a little difficult, we had to park two blocks away.

Lovely stay in a lovely hotel.
A lovely stay in a lovely hotel. Check in was a breeze and was shown to my room on the third floor. It is quite a walk up so was glad that he offered to carry my bag. I had a Deluxe Double Room which has even more stairs so be warned! I loved it, but if you have any mobility issues or do not have much stamina for stairs, do not stay on the third floor. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The lobby is spectacular as you are literally in a cellar of a 13th century abbey. The stonework and furnishings make you feel like you have traveled back in time. Bed was comfortable, robes and slippers provided. I will say that for this price we should not have to pay for extra coffee pods—perhaps the only complaint. If you go, there is free city parking at Republique parking not too far. The metered parking is free overnight and easy to find. The location is close to everything but on a quiet side street.

The property is beautiful and the staff is extremely friendly! One thing to be aware of is the steep, winding stairs to your room. Very difficult if you aren't in good shape.

Excellente situation et un cadre extraordinaire. Chambre très spacieuse et bien équipée. Un très bel hotel de destination pour visiter le centre de Beaune. Un bémol sur le rapport qualité / prix (surtout quand on compare au standard internationaux) et sur le pétit déjeuner, qui certes est proposé avec des produits de très grande qualité mais manque de réactivité dans le service (dommage car sinon j'aurai mis une note de 5)
