"With having only eight rooms, this boutique hotel is amazing. We arrived (from Lisbon by train) early so popped in to drop our luggage. Although we were earlier than 3pm, our room was ready so we were able to check-in. Staff are incredibly polite and even gave us a brief history of the building, whilst escorting us to the room. The room was fabulous and beautiful decor throughout the hotel. Three double, shuttered windows over-looking the canal. When open it could be a little noisy, simply...

"We haven’t been in an HI hostel in a long time (in our 70s) but were very happy with our overnight stay in HI Aveiro. Staff were lovely, the room and en-suite were very clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast was excellent. We walked to it from the bus station via the beautiful park. Not many eateries in the immediate neighbourhood (apart from a McDonalds almost opposite) but only 15 minutes on foot to the many restaurants/cafes in the town centre. "

"Staff at front desk for check-in was efficient, professional, helpful and courteous. Room was quiet and clean. The air conditioning worked well, and there was ample hot water. Would definitely stay again. We would have appreciated a kettle in the room."

"Absolutely stunning, historic property. Exceeds expectation. If you like Four Seasons, this far outshines. Property, accommodations, staff, and location are outstanding. We stayed in beautiful hotels in Portugal--this one is far/away the finest. Location is in the center of the historic, beautiful, charming village, which cannot be missed for meals, strolling, photos, etc. Highly recommend making the trip to the Arouca Geo Park for the Paiva Walkways and the suspension pedestrian...

"room was clean, bed was comfortable. Shower was bit small compared to the USA size but manageable. Shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Hotel staff was very friendly from the two ladies working the front desk of checkin and the lady working the morning breakfast, all very helpful. Hotel is in good walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Car parking can be a bit tough so that would be my only caution. I would return to the hotel. "
