"We loved the Union. It wasn't our first time there and it never disappoints. We had the largest room on the 3rd floor with a 180 degree view and amazing original furniture from the early 1900s. The only small complaint is that the king sized bed could use a new mattress. We didn't sleep well because it was pretty bad, but don't let this discourage you from staying there. Maybe they will read this and put a new mattress on the bed. :)"

"I had reserved 2 rooms at this inn, which turned out to be a very run-down motel that had several people living there permanently. The photos that I saw on the hotels.com website were fine. It had a rating of 8, with only one review. The reality of the two rooms we stayed in was nowhere near the photos. We had family staying with us from our of the country, and I was notified that we had rooms in such terrible condition. Our room had dirty floors, a broken lamp, burned-out lightbulbs, chairs...

"Here’s a polished version suitable for a hotel review: The rooms were clean, but they were very outdated and not well maintained. There was chipped paint, missing lightbulbs, damaged tile, and old, worn carpeting that made the room feel neglected. Our TV remotes didn’t work, which was frustrating. Breakfast was disappointing because there was never enough food, coffee, or hot water to accommodate the number of guests. It seemed the hotel was significantly understaffed, and the staff struggled...

"The room did have a Musty smell, not saying it wasn't clean but the odor was like the room had been not aired out in a while. or they need to shampoo the carpet. Bathroom was clean and kitchen area was clean. but for 150.00 a night I did expect a little better, than musty smelling room but over all I give it a 3.5 stars out of 5."

"Clean, comfortable, and everything in good order. Lobby doesn’t open until 7am (I was told 6am) but I appreciated the good coffee & half&half. Nice touch - no powdered creamer! There were some really minor issues in the room but overall they’re negligible. Thanks."

"I checked in and was given a room that was infested with roaches. I was given a different room that still had roaches and when i asked the older lady at the office if they had roach spray she seemed annoyed, she looked but couldnt find any. I ended up spending an extra $20 on bug spray and duct tape for their room. The rooms weren't the cleanest either. There was a open outlet behind the bed which was just a hole in the wall (thats what the duct tape was for). Waking up to roaches on the pillows...

"Well I’d say location was so so but we could totally do better by maybe providing better coffee but other than that it was great for our purpose being there with kids and 2 elderlies who had a hard time climbing stairs the 2 flights was totally doable. Something should be done with the cats though unless they’re chasing rats. Noticed lots of cats in SF businesses I wonder if thats a thing. Fear of getting broken into was mainly why we didn’t go anywhere near bigger cities but this hotel is close...
