"This was a pleasant stay, though a few downsides, which unfortunately were the main memory from our stay.
Breakfast food was very good, both the omlette and the full cooked option, but it was noticed that some areas of the breakfast room were attended to by more staff and had more coverage than others and one morning we asked for extra tea, it never arrived.
Reception staff were generally helpful, especially Collette, who was great.
The food and waiting staff in the Brasserie were excellent.
However, room supplies/top-ups needed to be requested for both nights of our stay as they were insufficient and the quality of the toiletries disappointed.
Having travelled around Scotland for this holiday and stayed in a number of other hotels immediately before and after Dalmahoy, I can't really complain about it, it was comfortable and big, but we stayed in other properties in Scotland (and near golf courses) and feel by comparison that this just wasn't 5* in terms of value for money. It just felt not so generous and a bit taken-for-granted which is not what you were expecting when you first drive up to the building,
If we hadn't had other places to immediately compare it to, I would possibly have rated it more highly."
