Ruskin Hotel
10/10 Excellent

Waterfront Southport Hotel
8/10 Good

Doric Hotel
6/10 Okay
"We stayed in the Annexe, a separate house next door to the hotel, we were unaware of this when booking. A lovely young lady from reception took us to the room, and gave advice on parking- hotel parking is minimal, and you have to leave your keys with reception, as it’s a game of ‘car park jam’, or you can try and park on one of the neighbouring roads. The annexe house looks just like a student house, a shabby front door with a key and pin pad entry system. Inside the grey thickly plastered walls are unwelcoming, a tatty settee at the bottom of the stairs blocks access and causes problems when carrying luggage, and must breach fire regulations. The room itself appeared quite pleasant, bright, modern, comfortable, spacious, a lovely bathroom with white fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. However, it did have a few negatives - the blinds closed with a gap in the middle, the bathroom vanity unit was broken, some parts of the carpet were grim, some of the decoration needed attention and a little deep cleaning required -but the room was so hot, no air conditioning, full sun through the broken blinds and no blackout curtains! The hotel public amenities appeared to be good, but didn’t really use them because our accommodation did not require us to access the facilities. Overall the stay was ok, probably wouldn’t return."

Hampton by Hilton Blackpool
2/10 Terrible
"There was a young persons football tournament on resulting lots of them around the hotel which is fine however parents allowed them to run riot which could have been avoided had the staff been more hands on and ‘seen’
Yes parents should be monitoring their children and if not should be told by staff if children were misbehaving but nothing was said as there was not enough staff to monitor or deal with the situation
Some of tables and surrounding areas were left very dirty with crayon’s everywhere and no attempt to clean them by staff when they walked passed.
This also resulted in early morning noise and the children ran riot in the corridors, yes there were signs to be quiet and respect other guests but these were at adult height.
In our view corridors should have been checked regularly with so many children being in the hotel as this is also a hazard as they were running through corridor doors and letting them bang shut
As one of our party has MS, this all made her extremely uncomfortable with the above mentioned mess and children flying about

Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Stayed for one night while working in the area.
Very pleasant and helpful staff on reception.
The room was spacious and comfortable, WIFI was a little slow though."

Holiday Inn Lancaster by IHG
8/10 Good
"Hotel was comfortable, room larger than expected & shown in photos. Rooms overlooking the car park can be a little noisy, and affected by the smell of smoke, but that is due to inconsiderate people rather than a hotel issue!"
