Hyatt Place Albuquerque/Uptown
8/10 Good
"Not a bad place. A couple of very minor downsides though. The water pressure in the shower is very low and the coffee and tea area had no sugar or creamer available and there were no bottles of water or anything to drink in the room. I guess you have to be a member or something. There was a microwave and small refrigerator however. Very close to shopping and restaurants at Abq Uptown and Coronado Mall. The free breakfast was good but not great. Scrambled eggs (probably instant type), sausage, biscuits and gravy for hot selections. Cereal, fruit, toast/bagels and a large bowl of self serve plain yogurt for cold options. Coffee, tea, milk, and juice to drink. The maids did not speak English (Spanish only) so communication was limited if you needed anything. Overall not a bad place but I think there are better places for the same or less price."
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Albuquerque Midtown
8/10 Good
"The property was a little dirtier than usual, seeing how it's supposed to be a smoke-free hotel. People were sitting on the benches right outside the door and using water bottles. There was several nasty water bottles full of cigarette butts. The microwave in our room did not work and when I said something to the staff about it they had me just use the one in the kitchen a bit inconvenient. Overall the property really needs a good cleaning. The Jets on the hot tub did not work. The pool had slime in the bottom of it over all the hotel needs some serious, serious attention. The staff were amazing accommodating for the issues they had to deal with. I guess my biggest complaint was the fire alarms went off at 5:00 this morning and woke up everybody in the hotel and nothing was ever said about it. No compensation for the inconvenience of being jerked out of bed. When I called the front desk to question it I got told I don't think there's a fire hang on. Let me see which was kind of concerning to me And finally there was a rather nasty blood clot in our bathroom floor which we did not see until we moved a towel. So again, overall it is definitely in need of some serious work"
