"This was the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. Despite carrying the Marriott chain name, Fairfield Inn & Suites Cherokee is severely outdated, poorly maintained, and fails to provide even basic hospitality standards. Our group of 10 people booked a total of 6 rooms. When we met the next morning, every single person complained that the nightstand outlets in their rooms were too loose to hold a charger. This is clearly a widespread, systemic issue across the property that management MUST...

Townsend

"The staff was very friendly, kind, helpful. They LOVED interacting with our Beagle Theodore. They showed him so much love. We had a great view of the mountains. We did unfortunately miss breakfast during our stay, so I can not leave a review for that. The hotel was also quiet & in sections of different buildings making it more personal. We had a nice large private balcony that is separate from the main entrance of our room. Also the parking was not in front of anyone's bedroom window."

"This was our second time staying here. The first time was off season Feb. 2025 his time the begining of Oct. 2026. Disappointing service and constant excuses We were incredibly disappointed with our stay at Tapoco Lodge, primarily due to the lack of knowledgeable staff. Whenever we had questions or needed assistance, the employees we encountered seemed entirely untrained and unable to provide basic information about the property or services. To make matters worse, whenever we brought up an...

"We were fortunate to be upgraded to the deluxe "cabins" at the top of the property but were also very pleased with the rafting trip and staff at the center. The restaurant at the river was very good and a great convenience as we dined there all three nights of our stay. The prices there were very reasonable for dinner. The train trip offered at Bryson City was excellent and about a 20 minute drive to reach."

"No Wi-Fi, reached out to contact listed to contact if issues who gave us a different number but because wi-fi wasn’t working we didn’t get messages in time to reach out. It’s nice to get away to places and not have wifi when you don’t need it but we had some critical things we needed wifi to be available and property shows it was available, regardless we shouldn’t have to track down who is responsible for service when we used email given. The place was neatly presented but it was NOT clean. ...
