"Hotels.com screwed up my reservation (as they did the next hotel on my multi-city trip), so I got there & only 1 room was reserved. Since it wasn’t busy, no big deal, except the front desk staff said there was some “new” system in use and they couldn’t add a room to my reservation or create a 2nd one. Completely ridiculous. So I stood in the lobby, in front of hotel staff, and had to make a reservation in my cell phone. The person who checked us in was either in a foul mood or seriously hates her job, because she was defensive & rude the entire time, when she should have been profusely apologizing & offering us freebies for the inconvenience.
The room was spacious but had ridiculously inadequate storage. All in closet but only 1 rod, 4 teeny weeny shelves. There was no functional chest of drawers. The same front desk person claimed they had no additional hangers.
Like many hotels, they have (presumably) used COVID as an excuse to avoid cleaning rooms daily. We asked for our room to be cleaned every couple of days, but even then only half the room was cleaned. Probably won’t stay in a Springhill Suites again unless I can’t avoid it."
