This sculpture in Kelly Ingram Park in Birmingham, Alabama depicts a vicious dog attack during the civil rights protests in 1963. This sculpture is very effective. I got chills walking through and imagining what it just have been like. #civilrights #historymatters

I feel like I had heard of this church, but didnt really understand the significance of what happened there until I visited. Several powerful sculptures were commissioned for the park to illustrate the Civil Rights Movement events that happened here.

Spotless room, great staff and a wonderful roof top bar all within walking distance of so many fantastic places! My only comment would be the shower temperature. A hot shower was more like lukewarm.
