"Elm tree cottage was the best stay I’ve had in Yorkshire , I visit often and by far the best place I’ve stayed the hosts were lovely and kind and was great to chat too! The location was perfect in a cute little village on a farm close to Thirsk and an easy drive to York. Providing the essentials for cooking and a cozy little cottage too! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future! "

"Reception were great , no fridge was a problem , breakfasts were good food in the evening not so much burgers dry and buns not toasted as stated for what you charge not worth it , properly why the restaurant was empty"

"Hotel was like a building site for the whole of our romantic break. Toymaster 2026 event preparation took over the entire hotel . Also, there was a parking charge of £18/night hidden in the smallprint; nearby street parking only £12 for 24 hours!"

"Lovely clean room with excellent shower room with toiletries. Huge TV! Fridge and kettle with tea and coffee all very welcome. The room was slightly on the small side with access to one of the twin beds a bit of a squeeze! But beds were comfortable.Check in was super quick and friendly. The breakfast area was modern and spacious and the breakfast choices were extensive and excellent. All in all this was exactly what we wanted in an excellent and convenient area for exploring the fabulous city of York. Would happily book again."

The its next to river so you get a lovely view either from a room or outside. Definitely be going there again soon"

Hotel was quiet (despite this, I'm a very light sleeper and forgot my earplugs, but the staff were able to give me a replacement pair), room was in full working order, clean and fresh. Shower was excellent and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast was tasty too. It was my second stay at this hotel, and I would come back again."
