"The hotel is in a superb location and the gardens are beautiful. We enjoyed delicious evening meals in the bar and breakfast was good with great views if you managed to get a table in the conservatory. The room was fine with a comfy bed and fabulous Mountain View’s a good selection of tea/coffee. The bathroom was disappointing though, there were rust marks on the wall and bath from the handrail over the bath and the towel rail was very close to the toilet so I think if it had been on you may burn yourself. This would not deter us from staying again but it does make the room appear in need of improvement."
"The property was clean and the room had nice sea views. The rooms are in a converted house next to the Indian restaurant at the site. They are as mentioned in the description accessed via stairs .. quite a few although was offered help with bags. The main negative factor is the location. We arrived and witnessed an altercation on the street in the mid-afternoon with a women punched in the face. The police attended.
We looked for other food options but only fish and chips available nearby. which were good but not much choice of eateries near by.
We booked for two nights stay but found a better option out of Bangor for the second night. Not a reflection on the accommodation or staff but rather the location."
"Very warm, friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room with en-suite and shower. Breakfast was good and served well. Location great. Near bus stop and train station !
Had a superb Indian meal at the restaurant the previous night. It was quality Indian food!
Highly recommended!"
"Great location, walking distance to the lake. There’s lots of food spots and shops nearby on the high street, the pub isn’t loud or crazy at night so we had a great nights sleep. Building is historic, so has that charm. On arrival one of the beds looked made up, but found lipstick on the pillow and hair in the bed. The staff were great at fixing this, even though he was busy in the bar restaurant. Breakfast was fantastic, full English - the lady who worked alone, she needs a raise, get her some young students to help her out serving. Thanks for a lovely stay!"
"The room and bathroom was great. Really clean, quiet and relaxing. We were able to take our dog also which was great. There is food available in the restaurant but quite expensive so we went elsewhere. Only negative was the nearest town had nowhere to eat out (it was quite run down) so we had to drive further afield for dinner but found a lovely pub called The Grape which did nice, reasonably priced food. I guess this hotel is a good base for hikers and nicely located next to zip world."
"Very Impressed with The Bulkeley Hotel we could only book a cosy and Comfortable room as the Hotel was full ,better than I thought it was going to be.The evening meal was excellent and so was the breakfast . I would definitely recommend this Hotel to friends and family."
