Liked: Staff & service
If you want basic, this is the place to stay. Simple accommodations and minimal amenities. Breakfast was continental with few options for the price.
Rooms need a thorough cleaning; ie, baseboards, base of shower, etc.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel worked great for us; functional and a clean place to stay before we headed into the golden circle. Check your messages before you check in - all the details for your room are there.
I have traveled solo many tim
es in many places. This may be the most helpful staff I have encountered. My room was just what I needed and the bathroom is well appointed and clean. The breakfast was plentiful and
flavorful with a good variety. I would stay here again without question
We stayed one night for the end of our golden circle drive. We had a lovely time at the bar In the evening. They have coffee and tea available 24/7 and water refill station. Clean rooms.
The staff was exceedingly helpful way beyond the call of duty - helping carry suitcases up to our room, checking our car tires, recommending restaurants , and welcoming us to use the lovely common room with all it’s complimentary drinks and breakfast facilities. Our room was very tiny but clean.
Great stay here, with a very clean room and excellent shower that was self contained and not open like many European showers where the water gets everywhere. Clean, and well ventilated rooms. Many dining options nearby, and the restaraunt had reasonable prices. Alas, if there was a con, the restaraunt was so popular that we couldn't get a seat due to a large party being there that night. Not a big deal as some of the local restaraunts in this town are TERRIFIC. Lindin has one of the best burgers you'll ever have, and its made from Reindeer, not to mention terrific arctic char. Icelanders know how to make their fish! Cozy stay, would stay multiple nights, thanks again.
This is a nice hotel. It is an easy location right off of the road. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a newer section, which was very clean and bright. We had a view of the river. The water pressure was great and the water was hot. An extra bonus was a heated floor in the bathroom and a heated towel rack. Much appreciated in the chilly Iceland weather. The room was spacious and the bets were comfortable. We definitely recommend this hotel.
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Laugarvatn. The staff was incredibly accommodating, always going above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located near Geysir and other major Golden Circle attractions, which made exploring the area so easy. There’s also a path for a mountain hike right across from the hotel, which was a great bonus and made the stay even more memorable. The peaceful setting by the lake added to the experience, making it a perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing. I would definitely stay here again. They also have great coffee!!!
The breakfast was very disappointing, especially considering the cost per person and you are locked into a buffet style with no real buffet to choose from. You would be better off finding somewhere else to eat. There are other local retaurants with better choices. Dinner however, at the same restaurant, was spectacular. Lamb stew, lamb steak, and the fried fish were absolutely delicious and truly some of the best food we had in Iceland. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great people work here. The location is perfect. Not too far from anything in the Golden Circle. Just a piece of advice, we were here in August 2026. Do not go via the right side to get to anything. There is major construction, but the road is still open and no warnings, in English at least. Very rocky and horrible to drive. We were afraid to get a flat, but this is where the GPS led us. If you go left, you will get to better roads and back on the main highway safely. Overall we loved this spot and would definitely come back.
Located close to numerous of the tourist spots in Golden circle. The outlook is stunning, great size rooms and amenities excellent quality. Staff were friendly and accommodating - highly recommend and would love to stay again.
The room is clean and spacious with the most amazing views by your window. The food is great, with just a few items in the menu but all tasted so good. Highly recommend this hotel.
