"You can tell this place has been recently renovated and it looks great! The room was super clean and super spacious. It was in a nice quiet area despite being relatively close to the highway! Our only downfall is the pillows had no volume (for our liking) and when we asked for 2 more , were informed they had no extra pillows on property for us to use. Would definitely stay here again if ever in the Virginia area, we'd just bring our own pillows to be a smidge more comfortable!"

"Our main reason for choosing this property was it had an indoor pool. When we checked in, we were told the pool was not working and they didn’t know when it would be back in working order. This should be posted on their website. Another issue is that when I asked for a receipt at check out the young man did not seemed pleased. He was not very receptive at all to questions or acted as if he wanted to be there. My husband did appreciate the breakfast."

"The staff was very helpful and courteous. But the room smelled, there were flying bugs in the room. The cover on top of the beds were stained and were very dingy, as if not cleaned. The bathtub looked very unclean and the shower curtains were dirty. With all that said, thank God we were only staying one night, I already had cleaning sprays and lysol. We were definitely not taking a shower and we slept on top of the bed with our blankets spread so we did not touch the covers. WORST PLACE I...

"Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted and provided with delicious, warm chocolate cookies. Our room was spacious and quiet. The complimentary continental breakfast was adequate and it's dining area was comfortably arranged. The location was perfect, directly accessible from I-581. And the cost was reasonable."

"Hotel is okay for a quick sleep. It’s a good price. Breakfast was decent. Rooms were clean, room could be updated some. My closet door wouldn’t shut. The man across the hall from me was smoking weed and the hall stunk even though it’s smoke free. Area around hotel is crappy. The woman checking me in was completely unfriendly. Didn’t get my $50 incidental charge did not get refunded and I had to call."

"For the price, this hotel is fine. However, don't be fooled by a rating over 7/10. It is closer to a 5/10. It was clean and the staff friendly but the maintenance is terrible. The last paint job was sloppy, the chairs in the rooms have stains on them, etc. It's essentially just showing its age. The price was good but don't get your hopes up on overall quality."

"Office manager was very kind and response was very fast. The location is close to many convenient stores to buy food or some other travel items. There is a fire station next to the hotel and so I felt safe."

"Gorgeous and chic hotel, walkable to any downtown location that you’d want! Staff is top notch and the furniture is awesome and is for purchase along with some other decor. Drinks are awesome at the bar, along with the appetizers! My date thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we both woukd highly recommend this unique experience "

"It's a beautiful space. The host was super helpful. Check in and check out was easy. The location is great. We visited several local restaurants and the transportation museum because of the informational packet within the unit. We would definitely stay again and recommend this place to our friends and family."

"It is a lovely hotel. The room was new and well-appointed with some of the old bank building charm. It's upscale while being quaint and comfortable. We were on the 4th floor. The room had amazing upper windows. Very cool! The staff was lovely. Very accommodating and friendly. The location is ideal, right in the middle of town. We were very happy to stumble upon the Promissory Hotel!"
