"This is a great hotel to stay in. Upon arrival we were greeted by a young gentleman who was very professional and friendly. Great location, secure parking. The room was exceptionally clean, stylish and warm, nice bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. Each room has its own heat pump. There is an indoor swimming pool and spa. We enjoyed the spa. We look forward to our next stay next time we are in Greymouth."

"Literally the cleanest room I’ve ever stayed in…and my expectations are sky high! Place looked and felt brand new. No wall scuffs, no nasty grout, no warn carpet. It was adorable! Location was great too. Easy parking and just a short walk to the beach and the restaurants in town."

"There was parking outside every unit for 1 vehicle. The rooms were fresh and provided the needed towels and blankets. Extra pillows and blankets in the room too. The owner Simon went above and beyond when we arrived, during a power cut (Narly storm chased us into Hokitika). He made sure we knew what was open for food and that we had a candle for a room until the power came back on."

"I am a carpenter and a painter so I really notice when any room I’m in needs attention. The room we stayed in was very clean, tidy and well decorated. The only thing I would suggest is a decent sharp knife and bread knife. Thanks for the great stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend to anyone."

"At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd. This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). Making things worse, there is literally not a single thing of interest in Kumara (it only exists because it is a stop on the West Coast Wilderness Trail).
