"What a gem of a hotel. Room, pool, hot tub, location were all great. Most important, the staff was so nice and accommodating...I spoke with maybe 5 staff members at the front desk, and each time they went out of their way to be helpful. Highly recommend this hotel."

"Kendra was wonderful, but she was the highlight of the visit. The website advertises complimentary wine upon check-in as well as a host a amenities. We were expecting a 4 or 5 star experience given the enormous price paid for a single room. There was no wine offered at check-in. The jacuzzi was broken. The mini-golf and outdoor activities were not useable...no balls, a completely un-maintained area, etc. The room was nice, but staring up at the HVAC vents showed spider webs and dust. ...

"Pool was probably the best part, rooms definitely need to be updated and the walls and ceiling are so thin we could hear everyone all night. There was people partying and being super loud from a wedding I believe and staff didn’t seem to mind. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. For almost $400 I expected better. My daughter enjoyed the pool but that’s about it. Glad it was only for one night because we barely slept from the noise and slamming doors all night and uncomfortable beds. I wouldn’t be...

"Lovely lodge right in the center of quaint Occidental. 2 minute walking distance to most restaurants and markets. We had an updated room and it was fresh and was a non-pet use room, which is nice for those with sensitive pet allgergies. Very comfortable bed. Helpful staff. Sometimes front desk is unmanned so review check in/check out instructions."

"To many strange people wandering about. They put us in room 118 next to the lobby? Office. On other side of wall was the breakfast again ?. All three mornings they started banging the wall at very early to set up the coffee. I use just cream , not available. At end of walkway was 4 garbage cans filled over capacity with garbage. Very disappointed. The hotel in San Rafael was much better."
