The only criticism is the bed was not comfortable…as if the soft topper was missing. We’ve stayed in a different room (American Eagle) and the bed was so much better. (Luxurious). We will stay again, but if the bed is as we experienced on our latest visit, we wouldn’t book again. Everything else was exceptional

This property was an absolute disappointment - the room smelled of toxic fumes , the heater did not work , the restaurant next door was extremely noisy , the rooms need a refresh , they are very dank and depressing. There is no way to contact the hotel owners , they give a check in code but do not greet the guests and they did not answer the phone when we tried to contact .

Property should be condemned! Terrible condition. No help on site or by phone. Dangerous stairs to second floor. Bad smell. If you are looking for a place to stay - KEEP LOOKING!

The inn is in an old historic building, with lots of original character. Fantastic to have parking. Great location, short walk to town. We stayed in the Victory room on the first floor. Very spacious, clean and nice bedding on comfy bed. Shower was nice and hot and good water pressure. Things to know: We had a window AC but no thermostat to control heat (fortunately we had ideal weather). We were next to a restaurant in the building so had to keep curtains closed as people were walking up porch past our window to enter restaurant (fine with us, we weren’t in room a lot, just something to be aware of. Rooms on second floor would be a better option if in room a lot)

We stayed in the Appledore room on the third floor. It had everything we needed and was very clean. The check-in was easy with entry codes emailed prior to. The only caveats were climbing the steep stairs, which could be a problem for some and the restaurant which is below the inn was quite noisy with patrons dining outside until 9:00 pm.

Nice little place. We were in the first floor room so the Tavern was literally out our window. Not the most private, but overall fine. The toilet and shower were very small and the table was a folding tv tray so it worked for a place to sleep for a few days, but not a place to stay for a week. 0 interaction with people which was convenient but a bit annoying when you run out of towels. Location is great for walking to food, bars, and the pier.

Great location! We stayed in Victory Chimes on the first floor. The room had a bleach and musty smell when we arrived, but aired out quickly. Parking is across the street, we weren't sure how the tow trucks would know we were guest so we put a note on our dash (a resident drove by and yelled we'd be towed, only reason we were concerned). Loved Boothbay Harbor and hope to be back again and stay at the Thistle Inn.

The room was basic and clean. Noisy during the night but we did have the windows open. The check in information and codes were never sent. I had to reach out to them so check in was delayed 20 minutes.

We had to get an email check in instructions with code numbers. The front door was a keypad and we knew the code to get in, but then there was a lockbox in front of our room, and although we had the code to it, we didn't know how to operate the lock box(another guest showed us how to pull the sliding door down to access the keypad. we tried calling the numbers provided because of "no front door check", but one number was to the restaurant below the inn and they couldn't help, I had to leave a voice mail to the manager with my problem and he emailed me instead of calling me back after I got help from another guest.
