Nice place and comfortable bed. Nice soaps too. . The only suggestion would be to get rid of the blue light from the light switch because the room has an exceptional black out and the blue light switch illuminates all the room at night disturbing the sleep.

Would highly recommend an alternative hotel (it’s also a hostel ) - far from everything and surrounded by multiple construction sites and of course the train station 🚉

We had a fabulous stay and staff were very helpful, especially considering my limited French. The rooms were clean and well air conditioned, and I loved the shower. . We were also very grateful for the hotel's left luggage service. The hotel is very close to the railway station. This is beneficial in terms of check-in and checkout. Please be aware, however, the trains may disturb your rest.

Jost not good enough
This hotel opened in Aug last year and it seems they’re still working out a lot of issues. During my stay, the fire alarm went off three different times (including very early in the morning twice), the pool was closed due to technical reasons, and the lifts had a wait of around five minutes. Add to this the surrounding landscape of total construction works and a less-than-salubrious neighbourhood and it made for a challenging stay. Things happen and the staff can’t be faulted for the alarms, construction or lifts, but the general insouciance and je-m’en-foutisme by the mostly very young staff give me pause about an upcoming stay in another Jost I had already booked. True, they did offer me breakfast as compensation, but if a hotel can’t deliver on the one thing it promises—a good night’s sleep—then what good is it, really? All in all, their style is on point, now they need to bring the substance.

It is unfortunately something we can not control but try to do our best to fix it.Regarding the pool, we are sorry it was closed for technical reasons, indeed we had to fix it before the clients could go to the pool.Concerning the elevator, we are sorry you had to wait, but all the client have access to the elevator and that can sometimes a line.Indeed our neighborhood id still in construction.We are so sorry that the young staff made you reconsider coming back at Jost Bordeaux. However, there is no "je m'en foutisme" coming from no one. All staff member do its very best to assure every client the best service possible.We understand that our first mission is for our clients to have a good night's sleep. This is why we were very carefully in everything we choose for the rooms. We guess you did not sleep well, but could you then explain to us why? Every detail is important to us in order to do better everyday. We understand your feedback, but in what you said, we could not know exaclty why we did not provide the best night's sleep. The room was nice but frustrating that the fire alarm went off both mornings for false alarms which meant the water went out in our room and we couldn’t have a shower. Roof top pool wasn’t working and they said we could have a free cocktail but then couldn’t have it because the roof top had an event that you had to pay to go to. Breakfast was also pretty average.

Loved staying at this hotel. The room had enough space for 2 people, you can put your suitcases under the bed and it saves room! The bed was comfortable and the staff was really friendly & professional. The only thing I would say is that when I got there the room was at 28 degrees so it took a while to bring it down to 20 degrees. Other than that, it was perfect!

If your looking for a hotel in a good location with a simple and easy breakfast, clean and comfortable room & friendly staff then this is the place. The roof top wasn’t open which was a shame as this attracted us to the hotel. Don’t waste your time with the cocktails.

Lovely stay - would recommend.
Great stay despite construction area. Lovely quirky hotel. Kids loved the double bunk beds and the pool at top. Parking was the only issue I think needing some attention as there was none really close so took half hour to drive the car to the nearest carpark. Hopefully in the construction around they have factored that ina nd some nearer parking can be provided. Decent price now - although I imagine once the area is developed that will spike!

Wonderful experience overall. The hotel property is new, some equipments needs little tune up such as 2 of the elevators and in room central air condition system.

Getting the kinks out
When Jost works out the kinks (it is very new), I expect I would give it a higher rating. It's located close to the train station, but in a construction area, I was VERY confused trying to find it, even with Google maps. They did let me check in early, but had problems with the key card in the elevator. The room I had was tidy/small, did not have a chair or luggage rack, so I had to use the double bed as half a staging area. No glasses (as in water glasses) in the room. Turned out coffee maker, etc., some glasses and mugs are in the common area on the floor -- but I didn't know that! Despite being close to the train station, the hotel is isolated, and its restaurant hours (and menu) are limited, though my one supper (middle eastern menu, with some items not availalbe) was fine. I found this hotel when I had to move for my last two days in Bordeaux, with limited choices near the train station (I wanted there so I could catch an early bus to the airport; it's also a reasonably convenient spot though the historical city is nicer). Next time I will choose another hotel, though overall, given they are still in set-up mode, I can recommend this one vs. not recommend.

The Jost is overall a very nice hotel. But we had 2 Uber drivers go to the wrong location. Your address is incorrect on Google maps. If you search for Jost in Google maps, it takes you to 64 Rue Amelie, not 64 Rue Amedee, which is 15 minutes away. Once we got there, the check in is in the restaurant, which is 2 levels up from the lobby. The lobby is not open and confusing to find the check in. You should email and tell everyone that check in is in the restaurant and that Google maps address is incorrect. Once we checked in, the room is very nice and clean. It is a huge construction site and pretty loud but nice that it is close to the train. The decorations are very nice, but they are not secure to the shelves. We had a CD and a book fall on us. There are glass vases on the shelves that could easily fall and hurt someone. There is a huge glass vase on the floor that could be knocked into. The windows are very nice, but there is no way to keep them open. There should be a way to keep them open. The flooring, beds and blackout shades were very nice.

Hôtel proche de la gare (environ 15 minutes à pieds). Bon rapport qualité prix. Concept intéressant avec déco faite essentiellement de livres, CD, vinyles. L'hôtel est propre et le quartier calme. La literie est correcte. Pour ce qui est du moins: pas de placard dans les chambres qui sont un peu petites, lavabo dans la chambre, donc pas très intime, lit accessible que d'un côté car bloqué dans un coin de la chambre

C'est un hôtel sympa et surprenant. On s'y sent comme à la maison avec une bibliothèque dans les chambres. J'y ai séjourné alors qu'une panne internet touchait l'hôtel mais le personnel a été disponible et reactif. Je recommande

Des progrès à faire..
L'idée du concept est bon néanmoins entre la théorie et la pratique l'écart est encore grand. Le plus gros problème actuellement est l'odeur. En complément : plus de café disponible sur le palier à 8h, un espace de coworking bruyant par le personnel qui oubli de respecter les lieux. Le "bonjour" est en supplément (une formation sur le Bonjour / aurevoir / merci est à revoir auprès du staff). Enfin, j'avais réservé cet hotel pour profiter de la piscine après une journée de travail malheureusement fermé pour évènement à partir de 19h.. dommage pour moi. Concernant le restaurant il est sympa néanmoins je regrette que le menu soit à la semaine si on reste plusieurs jours ça change peu... Emplacement interessant, rooftop appréciable, originalité des chambres, rapport qualité prix il y a du positif ! L'immeuble est récent, il faut du temps.
