Not too far from the airport. Easy to reach with the same bus that connects the airport to the city centre. It's a good and cheap option if your flight arrives late in the evening. Possibility of continental breakfast at the pub inside the hotel.

I would not recommend this hotel at all. Was cold the heating system was on but not great at all. Damage walls and surface

The hotel is 11 minutes away by car to Old Town and surrounding areas so I had to take Uber to and fro each day for sight seeing. It was inconvenient. Best to pay a little more for accommodation to be near Old Town so you can walk everywhere.

The hotel was very basic. I would give it just 1 star. It was very noisy at night, the bed vas uncomfortable and small. I would not recommend to stay there, I won’t be back.

Wonderful staff.

The staff were wonderful, so helpful and friendly. My room had a shared toilet and shower. The toilet door did not fully close and had no lock. The shower door had no lock.

Kuvittelin että huoneessa on ilmastointi mutta vain erillinen siirrettävä laite joka pitää erittäin kovaa melua. Hiukan kalliimmassa huoneistossa kaverillani sattui olemaan kiinteä ilmastoinrilaite. 7 päivän ajaksi 2 kpl kertakäyttöshampoota ei ole tarpeeksi. Tyyny oli jättimäinen ja yritin ottaa yhteyttä sen vaihtamiseksi sekä lisäshampoon mutta kyselyihin ei vastattu. Sijainti huoneistossa oli hyvä.

Hotel "Communista"

Hotel Avion is more disappointing than initially thought. I have known and used this place years back and got really disappointed with the hotel, its management and the poor services they offered then. Over ten years later, these have not changed, they in fact became worse. It is a hotel from the Slovak Communism era and is still hanging to it. There is no proper reception there as in any hospitality normal unit, ie: an open plan reception for the staff to communicate and interact with the guests. The reception is all lockdown, with a full glass wall "protecting" the staff from "guests", and communications through bare tiny windows... plus if you don't speak Slovak, then you are lost. Very few people at the reception and the reception speak proper English. Unfortunately, they are not there, or available all the time. So, at times you are talking to walls or to the glass itself. Why this extra security, no one knows. I was told that the hotel accommodates homeless people put there by the local social authorities (...), and is also used as a place to live by temporary workers or daily labourers from outside the area. The hotel is not also properly maintained. The old lift is still there and hardly worked, it is not easy to open though as it was years back when I used it and got locked in it. The hotel stinks & smells bad, from the moment you enter it. The rooms are small, adapted and just about clean if you don't look at the shower and toilets. And the beds are of another era

This is definitely a very poor hotel. The staff were nice and I felt bad for them and the guests. But as an American traveler I would strongly advise booking somewhere else 😬
