"The hotel itself is excellent - great location and architecture. The cool atmosphere and aircon were welcoming on the hottest June day ever recorded in Cardiff! The facilities were great - including bedroom, bar and pool / spa. A couple of disappointments though. Guaranteed check-in from 3p.m. We arrived at 2.15 so went to the bar to wait. By 3.30 still no room, so after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing they eventually found us an upgrade. The breakfast - distinctly average for the price and...

"Lovely room, with large bed. We have stayed in this hotel lots of times before but we have never had as nice of bed as we had this time. It was a lovely surprise. Breakfast great as usual."

"Excellent Hotel, well-located next to Cardiff Castle, parks, shopping areas, etc. Clean and well cared for. Reception staff went out of their way to be helpful (we had a complex booking because we were working around a concert bundle stay, with a booking before, and a booking after the concert date) and to make sure we had continuity in the room we stayed in and simplified things as much as possible to make it relatively seemless. "The hotel is tired and has an overwhelming smell of stale smoke in the hallways and bedrooms. Staff were friendly but miscommunication between the front desk and housekeeping, meant that requests were missed or forgotten. Best bit of the hotel is the bar and outdoor terrace. The pool was lovely but the changing rooms were not. Definitely gives off conference vibes - would not stay there for pleasure."
