It was a wonderful experience, everything was very peaceful and beautiful. Perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city and connecting with nature and with yourself or your partner on a deeper level. I hope to return soon. Nigel was a wonderful host. If I had to describe FlopHouze Hotel in one word, it would be magical. We loved it.

Great for a quick overnight trip. We were in Houz III which says it can sleep three but preferably two. We had our six year old and thought she could crash on the couch but it just wasn’t comfy enough and she was crammed in with us by midnight. The listing definitely said two is preferred- but I would update to say it really is a two person situation. Other than that, perfectly nice, clean and easy place to crash for a short time.

Loved the unique concept and rustic decor. The main inconvenience was no bathroom sink. We had to brush teeth, etc. in kitchen. Also, ceiling fan and shower could have been cleaner. One light bulb in bedroom was broken and just hanging so we didn't turn it on. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Best kept secret in Texas

I never write reviews but this spot warrants it. If you’re headed to Round Top or anywhere in the vicinity there’s only one place you should stay. It’s simply the best. From the location, to the coolness of the decor, to the comfortability of the beds, to the magnificent pool, to the stellar communication with Matt the owner and Nigel the groundskeeper aka the unofficial mayor of the town… Flophouze ranks amongst the most memorable spaces I’ve ever stayed. My only regret is telling you people about it because it’ll increase the likelihood I won’t be able to get a booking next time I pass through.

The space is nice and clean but don't book through Expedia. Hidden charge added after the fact. Receipt says taxes and fees but "fees" are what Expedia gets paid and then the property adds additional cleaning fee you're not aware of. Longtime Expedia customer and I am done with them. Definitely don't book any rental property throught this site.

Funky and fun idea for a boutique hotel. you have a couch, a bathroom, a bedroom and a kitchenette with microwave, sink and some basic dishes. Back porch looks out onto a picturesque cow pasture. You have a hammock and firepit for hanging out and relaxing. There is a hot tub and BBQ pit on the property. Containers are painted with murals and offer a great chance to try out his tiny house concept. What to know before you go: 1) The cows mix and mingle freely amongst the containers, so watch your step in the grass. 2) their are no blackout curtains. This means the motion activated lights that come on when the critters move around at nights or from car lights are shining into your bedroom. Thicker curtains should be on their list. Their are QR codes to work everything from the heat to the coffee pot, so you need to find those in the kitchen. They have TINY writing so you may need to look twice to figure it all out. There are lots of ports for charging devices. There is no TV or radio, just a record player, so bring your own book, magazines, or ipad if you want entertainment besides the cows. There isn't much in the area for breakfast, so keeping some food in the little fridge and making do may be a solid plan. Same with beverages and snacks. You are a good distance away from these items if you don't bring them.

Great unique stay !

Such a Unique experience loved it!! Only small complaint was they didn’t clean up the animal droppings I get it, it’s on a farm but just wish they would be better about that around the actual containers Otherwise it was FANTASTIC the beds were AMAZING decor so cute and the record player was so nostalgic for us we bought one when we got home ! Would definitely stay again!

It was very serene and quaint. The heated pool is a nice touch, and it was awesome seeing the cows grazing right outside of our container. It was also so much fun walking around the grounds seeing all of the interesting objects which ranged from cool airplane parts, a decommissioned mechanical bull, and a hodgepodge of fun items.
