"The cleanliness was poor; there was a lot of dust in the drawers, and the sofa was very worn out. The room I stayed in also had weak water pressure."

"A beautiful, newly renovated property which respects the history of the building, but adds a modern elegant interior in every detail throughout. The staff was wonderful. The room was spacious by European standards and spotlessly clean. The bed linens and towels were very high-quality.the available breakfast buffet is excellent with a really good variety of cold and cooked foods and pastries. Very quiet hotel, although in a great central location in the Gothic Quarter. Not far from La Rambla....

"A first class experience from the moment we arrived. Greeted with cold towels, handmade chocolate and a glass of Cava then a tour of the hotel before being shown to our room. The room was great, spotlessly clean and with everything we could have needed. Also some lovely, fresh tapas waiting for us. The staff were incredible, helping with everything from restaurant recommendations, organising transport to sharing local tips and providing us with water before we went out. A great place to stay...

"The staff was friendly and professional. However, for the price, I expected more from the room. It was quite small, and the shower had not been renovated. There was peeling paint on the walls, holes in the ceiling, and overall, the finishes felt poorly done. The room also lacked a fridge, and there was no breakfast included, which was disappointing. You’re essentially paying for the location here. I would consider other hotels in the area."

"Location is outstanding. No view from room 10, not sure about the others. Staff nice. Entry is a little tricky. Cabs don’t like driving in the area. Easy walk from La Rambla. Lots of little dining spots. Again book this for the location it’s awesome!"

"Hostal Ambos Mundos is in a great location, with shopping and restaurants close by. It was clean and well furnished. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our only complaint is that we were unaware that it is on the third floor and there is no elevator. Diah was an awesome, helping us getting our luggage up and down the stairs though. "

"Staff are superb, we felt right at home every time we walked through the doors. The rooms are kept at a high standard but be prepared for what you pay for. Rooms are definitely smaller than what you’re used to, but you can always upgrade. Also, expect an extra tourism fee per night. "
