I loved staying here! The room was beautifully furnished and decorated and the floor to ceiling curtains were everything. Even the bathroom was gorgeous. The whole place definitely had a historic and vintage feel to it. The spiral staircase was amazing and there is also a lift. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and assisted me in making the most of my time in Budapest.

Das Gerlöszy Hotel liegt im inneren Stadtkern Budapests und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten des Zentrums sind von dort fußläufig zu erreichen. Normalerweise bezahlt man diesen Vorteil mit lauten Nächten durch Straßenverkehr oder Nightlife. Das Gerlöszy hingegen liegt in einer ausgesprochen ruhigen Ecke im Zentrum und wir haben in unserem großen Zimmer auf guten Betten wunderbar geschlafen. Außerdem war das Servicepersonal sowohl im Hotel wie auch im Restaurant ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Speisen waren qualitativ gut und entsprachen preislich dem örtlichen Preisniveau. Für unseren 5 Tage Trip ein perfekter Übernachtungsort und ausdrücklich zu empfehlen!

This is a great hotel to stay for a week.Location is very central, Great service, there is a restaurant under the hotel that serves very good breakfast. I did not eat lunch/dinner, can’t comment. Room has a big bathroom that’s separated with a door for privacy from the room which is great. But, the bathtub is old fashion, one can’t stand up and take a shower. No shower curtain, it’s a bit inconvenient, but by day three, we learned how not get the floor all wet. Overall, great place to stay.

We were in a hurry at checkout but I think she charged us for beers we never had at the hotel restaurant. They need to be cautious about people signing drinks to rooms they don’t occupy. We had one beer and one glass of wine with dinner when we arrived and paid with card that night. We did not have any other alcoholic drinks at the hotel.

Everything about the Gerlóczy was first class. Our room was spotless, roomy, air conditioned. The breakfast menu was varied, and the portions were such that we didn’t feel the need to eat again until late afternoon / early evening. All the staff were all extremely pleasant, helpful and delivered excellent service. We used the restaurant once during our stay, and the food we had was delicious.

Lovely, quirky hotel out of the busyness of central Pest but still close to everything. The room was fabulous - I was up in the attic with a platform bed which I loved - and the restaurant excellent. Highly recommended!

A fairytale stay

This hotel was perfect for our Budapest stay(4d,3 nights). Location was central to everything we needed to see on our visit. The hotel was so welcoming and the staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurant attached was outstanding! I wish we would have eaten there more often. Add the breakfast option. Great value and wonderful food and many choices. Would definitely stay there again.

Trevligt rum, väldigt varmt fick ingen kyla av ac.n. ljuset kom in från wc fönstret och gick ej att mörklägga tog sängöverkastet och hängde för fönstret vilket blev utmärkt. Åker gärna tillbaka.

Beautiful Hotel, Lovely Stay

My husband and I stayed at the Gerloczy in Budapest for 3 nights in February and had a really lovely stay. The location was perfect, room comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated in an old-world style (think wooden beams, brass fixtures, striped wallpaper) and the staff were efficient and friendly. We were traveling off-season so got a great price..I suspect it would have been beyond us otherwise so we feel very lucky. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend:)

Excellent boutique hotel, great location

We loved staying here. A fabulous old building renovated with all the best original features. The location is excellent, next to but not in the entertainment areas and easily walkable to the river and all the sights. The restaurant has a Paris cafe feel, and the food is top notch, we dined like kings.

Convenient location. Walkable and near transportation. Picked the hotel because it was boutique and had character. Main improvement I would suggest is the shower and toiletries. Shower leaked into the floor and the shampoo/conditioner made my hair greasy.

Both the guy during the morning reception and the night reception were super kind and helpful. The room was very good and had everything we needed. We had a problem with the AC in the room and they immediately helped us to solve it. I will definitely come back here every time I visit Budapest, I will recommend it :)

Here’s a quick rundown to help you decide if it’s the right choice for you. The Highlights -The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the Pest side, close to key attractions and vibrant spots. The building’s charm is another standout feature, reminiscent of an upscale, traditional Hungarian home. If you’re seeking an authentic experience over a standard chain hotel vibe, Gerloksy delivers. We also loved the breakfast package, served in the hotel’s on-site café. The food was fantastic, with upscale and unique options like bone marrow and foie gras. It’s a must for food enthusiasts. The Drawbacks - Unfortunately, the air conditioning didn’t work, making for uncomfortable, restless nights. Despite informing the front desk, nothing was done, which was disappointing. The staff’s casual approach also detracted from the experience. Employees wore street clothes, making it hard to tell who worked there, and service felt unpolished. Lastly, the bathroom amenities fell short. Housekeeping missed a day, soaps weren’t replenished, and the body wash seemed increasingly diluted, requiring multiple pumps for even basic use.
