The reception staff at Pest-Buda were courteous, polite, and genuinely helpful, which created a good first impression. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay was disappointing.
• Restaurant service: breakfast-The staff were consistently rude and unaccommodating. Orders were mixed up, and any request for flexibility—such as switching homemade bread for a croissant—was met with a firm “no.” One staff member in particular (with a beard and ponytail) was especially dismissive and negative.
• Facilities: The hotel does not have a lift, and this was not clearly mentioned in advance. Carrying luggage up the stairs was inconvenient.
• Housekeeping: Room cleaning was below expectations. Housekeeping even removed our personal plates, spoons, and knife, and only returned the plates—never the spoon or knife. This felt careless and unprofessional.
Overall, while the reception team was excellent, the poor restaurant service, lack of transparency about facilities, and subpar housekeeping made the stay frustrating. Pest-Buda has potential, but significant improvements are needed before I could recommend it.
