I stayed at Sonesta in Burlington VT last week from 2/17/26-2/19/26 where I have previously stayed without issues but this time the entire experience was horrendous. I tried asking for the manager but he was never there and the worker I tried dealing with was beyond rude! My room had blood on the sheets, ants all around the stove, dead centipedes on the kitchen floor, bath towels had feces on them, the bathroom was extremely filthy covered in some feces plus hair, the pool was closed which was not disclosed prior, and breakfast consisted of only pancakes without any condiments and yogurt! Please assist me with this and if needed I have photos.

I was charged an early check-in fee, but the room wasn't cleaned at all, despite the fact that I checked in an hour later than expected. Two male maintenance workers worked on the bathtub for over an hour, not asking if it was okay, swearing, and not realizing that, as a female, I may not be concerned for my safety. When leaving, they asked that I check to see if the plumbing leaked. I wasn't able to because they locked the utility door. I then had to clean the bathtub before it could be used, as well as the floors, which were dirtied after they walked across them in their work boots. I didn't feel comfortable using the kitchen area, as there were visible crumbs on the floor, in the cabinets, and on the counters. Additionally, the microwave was broken. After sharing my concerns with the desk clerk, there was no remedy offered.

The room was dingy, it definitely felt like it needed a good cleaning. One of the main reasons we booked was because of its capacity. We were traveling with 3 children and needed beds for each. The sofa was a pull-out bed, which was exactly what we needed. Problem was there was no blanket/comforter or pillow for the pull-out. I called the front desk as was asked if I really needed it. Then I was told he would call back in about 10 minutes because the linens were being washed. This was about 11 pm. I never heard from or saw that person again. I tried calling the front desk and someone from Expedia tried calling and there was ne response. On top of that the channels they advertised didn't work and what did work would break up every few minutes. The place was a dive and it needs work. Only bright spot was the Front Desk Manager the next morning being understanding about our complaints and needing to find better accomodations for the rest of our stay (yes, we left).

There were ants in the room, and looks like the entire Building 10 had this problem. The management reimbursed portion of the cost, though. Swimming pool was out of service, too, Kids were a bit disappointed. I stayed in this hotel last year, and seems breakfast was of better quality; this year there was smaller selection.

Upon arrival we noticed that room was not clean. There was hair in both bathrooms and around the sinks. The upstairs bed was missing sheets and all the tv’s were missing the remotes. We called the front desk and they brought us sheets and had to call again for remotes. We ended up cleaning and disinfecting both bathrooms and kitchen so we didn’t have to call for the third time. The ceiling fan in the living did not work and the light flickered and buzzed when you turned it on. We found old socks in the upstairs and other items from the last guest that were not picked up.

The room was ok , but not as clean as it could have been , there were some stains on the carpet and a lot of dust on the top of our headboard , etc . The pool didn’t work which is one of the reasons we chose the hotel . The person that I spoke to the day before we checked in and said that it was being worked on, and it might be fixed the next day but he couldn’t promise . Upon check in the very very sweet girl that worked at the front desk said no, it’s not expected to be ready for a couple weeks. It has been very icy in Vermont , walking to the room from our car was very slick , and some of the landings outside were glare ice . The girl at the front desk offered to give us some rock salt to take with us and then discovered she didn’t have any . I suggest contracting someone to sand the lots and walkways before someone gets hurt . Tv was messed up, channels scrambled and not coming in. Girl at desk said they had recently switched her providers and there were issues . Overall the bed was comfy and our stay wasn’t bad , but there are definite needs for better housekeeping and maintenance . The girl at the desk whose name I don’t recall was so nice !

The room was dirty, the kitchen drawers were broken, and the power outlets were broken, which was a safety hazard. The carpet was torn. I stayed for five days, and housekeeping never cleaned the room, and the trash was overflowing. When it snowed, no one from the hotel cleared the sidewalks, which created a slip and fall hazard when going to breakfast. The laundry area was filthy and awful.

Duplex style rooms are comfortable with big family. 2 separate bathrooms are very comfortable.

The receptionist was very attentive to our accommodation, but the rooms were dirty, the chairs were old and filthy, the table was wobbly, and the refrigerator shelf falls down when you open it. The pool is okay, but the hot tub has cold water instead of hot. Poor management; practically everything is falling apart. I need everything replaced. That's why I gave it this rating. I don't recommend staying there.

My only complaint was with the heating system. It's gas-fired and in a locked closet off the kitchenette. When it goes off and on, it is noisy, like any gas furnace. But it is not terrible. The bed was very comfortable, lots of hot water, the room was very clean, and nice, thick towels.

The bathroom had not been cleaned, the toilet was dirty. We registered three guests (myself and my two teenaged sons), but linens for the third guest were not provided. When we called to request linens (at 6pm), we were told all staff had left for the day and we would have to return to the front desk to get them ourselves. No one was at the front desk. Breakfast was an extreme minimalist take, with instant scrambled eggs, and a mix of other cheap carbs. You get what you pay for, I suppose.

Great location and friendly, helpful staff. Room was good sized easy access from parking. needs updating. had no wash clothes. but overall a good stay and will be staying again.
