"Very clean room and the staff were great and very helpful without being intrusive. We had the continental breakfast which was great and plentiful choice. We used the spa daily, the pool was like stepping into a bath it was so warm and we enjoyed the sauna and steam room. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet relaxing break, we took the boat to Ambleside and back and the girls in the kiosk who were very informative and pleasant. The hotel is on flat land with lots of space for walking or sitting out and having drinks hot or cold. Suitable for those of us who have mobility problems. Two lifts are available but there is a bit of a journey to reach them as they are situated in the new part of the hotel but, can’t be helped as it would have ruined the grand style if they tried to pit them near the reception Parking outside is chargeable to a separate company. Blue badge holders can park free if a token is obtained from the hotel and all others must park 400 yards further away with a token but can unload in a space outside the hotel."

"On a room only deal. Pet friendly large ground floor room with a seating area and two extra beds. Room looked newly refurbished and was spotless throughout. Definitely recommend these rooms although they are a little more expensive. Staff very helpful and food in the bar was lovely. ."
