"Good to have parking. A good perk is free parking. The basement level has a beautiful library and conference room that looks like the hull of a ship. The restaurant in the hotel is good but pricey. The Nathaniel Hawthorne clam chowder is a small bowl and expensive....Walking distance to many things. Rooms are small and the bed fills up most of the room. No view to speak off. But it is a heritage hotel and the connection to Hawthorne was why I stayed. The staff were pleasant and helpful."

"Not really a fan of the whole digital thing....but the property is cute. Expedia indicated the room had a fridge, but apparently you have to rent them in advance ($50+). Luckily, they were able to have one brought in... complimentary, since it was for my meds."

"The room was great- exactly as described. The gentleman owner was kind - lived on the premises and spent a lot of our stay mowing the lawn and working in the gardens. Would be a bit uncomfortable for femme people traveling alone, but a good set up for people looking for conversation or company. "

We did have a small issue with parking as there are several homes with parking in the rear. We went to the main house and the staff was able to direct us to where we needed to be. Within walking distance of many things Salem had to offer. Very happy with this property highly recommend."

"At check-in the 50% deposit paid through Expedia was not recognised and we had to prove payment to avoid a double charge. This is not a hotel. There is no full-time reception or usual hotel amenities. Neither is it a B&B, as there is no breakfast at the property. A voucher for $7 was provided for a cafe needing a 2 mile round trip; the amount just about covered a muffin and a small coffee. It feels more like managed rooms. The room and communal areas are pleasantly decorated, clean and the bed...

"Everything was good except for the location do the room. I could hear the traffic even with ear plugs in."

"Upon arrival, our room had an odor of cat spray. I returned to the front desk and they got us in another room immediately. Our new room was clean and odor free :) The pool and the outside sitting area was not ready, so cannot rate those amenities. The fire alarm went off and we were unable to get back into our rooms afterwards, so we had to get new cards. No clue what happened. The Fire Department showed up and apparently it was a false alarm thank goodness. You must purchase your coffee and...

"Rooms were clean. Only one elevator working for the three days we were there. This hotel is the”go to” for large groups. There were at least two different groups of teens there at the same time as us. May want to book somewhere else if you are looking for quiet."

"Very nice comfy spot, only issue I had was the cord for the little desk fan didn’t work. Great spot other than that. Little pricey but it was Memorial Day weekend. Quiet and there were no interactions with any staff due to it all being through phone it was contactless"

"Very nice experience. All the staff was on point, specially the Dominican lady in the breakfast area. Didn’t feel overcharged for the breakfast either. I would only complain about how clear the noise from the parking lot outside felt in my room ."
