Hotel Playa Mondrago

"Loved loved loved hotel. Its location is on the beautiful Mondrago beach. Great location, beach restaurant, parking was relatively easy compared to my other hotels on the island. Front desk agent Julien was fantastic. Couldn’t have been happier. Priced at a good rate."
Hotel Apartamentos Cala Santanyi

"A well situated apartment with stunning views. Very clean and had a lot of amenities within it, which is great when you are using an apartment over an hotel. We were self catered but did opt for dinner one night which was €35 euros each for food only. The food wasn’t the best and was probably the most expensive meal we ate the whole trip which was disappointing. I would recommend eating at the restaurants in the surrounding areas instead or venturing to Santanyi town on an evening. We didn’t try breakfast so cannot comment. Staff were mainly friendly and taxis were booked for us in advance by the staff without any issues, which was very helpful. The balcony was lovely, a complete suntrap which was lovely on the evening. The only real issue (which is not the apartments fault) is the salty water in the shower and for cleaning teeth. My hair was a nest by the end of the trip, very brittle and my body was very dry with the salt water, even with lots of lotion! You will need to buy big bottles of water to keep hydrated and to clean your teeth, and the nearest shop is up a lot of stairs on the other side of the beach. Overall, I would definitely stay here again though!"

"Our stay was lovely from arrival. We were given a lovely welcome,cool flannels as it was very hot and a welcome drink. Everything was explained very well, I downloaded the app as that was the best way to see what activities there were each day, look at menus from the bars and restaurant and also contact reception or the spa. We were then taken to our room, which was amazing. All rooms have a sea view. The junior suite was beautifully decorated with the bed facing the balcony and the sea. The rest of our stay was great. Breakfast is wonderful with lots of choice. The pool area is beautiful as you are surrounded by the sea and you can alternate between swimming in the pool and sea. I had a spa treatment Dalia who was very friendly and kind and gave a great massage. I felt very looked after by her and her colleague Luminita. I would recommend going to the spa for a treatment. We dined in the restaurant onsite and it was nice, as you could sit outside and watch the sunset. Although there was a mix up and our main course took a long time, which they apologised for. All the staff were incredibly nice and friendly and were always there to help. One of the bar staff was very accommodating with my partners request to watch a specific football match on the TV in the lobby bar area. The bed was turned down each night with a lovely chocolate, lavender and a message/quote which I thought was a lovely touch. Highly recommend staying here and I will definitely be back."

"This hotel is nice but needs some renovation, though it is clean and we loved the convenience walking to the beach and that area around is very quiet. Also, we loved the Espontas bar which is just across the hotel"

"Brilliant location looking out to several beaches with immediate access from the hotel. Clean, well-maintained and spacious room although furnishings are dated. Breakfast and dinner are great with a wide selection include GF. Quality of individual items varies but generally very good. My only criticism is that there’s far too few sun beds for the number of guests, so they manage this by charging extra. We just spent the day away from the hotel instead. A few other things require modest additional charges, eg coffee pods, beach towels. Some nice local walks and a few shops and bars, but not too commercialised."

"I don’t know if I would stay here again, but I am glad I did. It was confusing from the start. When we arrived, there were two other cars waiting at the gate to enter. Everyone was equally confused about how to get in. The other two cars were wedding vendors. Eventually, the gate opened so one woman could run in, but then it soon shut after, so we continued waiting. Finally we got in. We walked a bit from the parking lot to the reception. The person at the reception was quite young and a bit aloof. She spent some time with the wedding vendors and did not acknowledge us at all. She ended up asking us to wait two minutes while she walked the vendors to some other part of the property. But of course it was longer than two minutes. Luckily, we had been on Mallorca for a few days, so we weren’t jet lagged, but it was a bit annoying, and I can’t imagine coming off a long flight to wait in the car, and then wait in the reception. When she came back, did not apologize for the wait and began checking us in. Even after checking in, she hesitated to ask if we needed help with our luggage. The parking was not too far, but it’s a rocky pebble driveway, which is not ideal for dragging a suitcase. The interaction was odd. She was not rude. It just seemed like her first day. Overall, we had a nice enough stay. The power went out once, but otherwise it’s nice. No complaints about the bed, bathroom, property. It was quirky!"
