"The staff was amazing giving helpful hints on where to go, the room was large for our family of 5 and very comfortable. A "peek-a-boo lake view was a nice treat. A great location. Parking was on the street, we got lucky just around the corner. Delicious huge Breakast. "

"We loved our four-night stay at B&B Al Carotin. Julio is super friendly and always at hand. The property has balconies overlooking the valley and mountains, and it was so relaxing just to sit out on the balcony, drink in the views, and let your shoulders drop. We took a day trip to Tirano and took the train up to Switzerland, which is the same line as the Bernina Express. We had a couple of very enjoyable days by the lake. We'd love to come back."

"Had some difficulty finding the hotel at first thanks to our satnav taking us in the wrong end of Via Poncia through a tiny alleyway - from the right end of Via Poncia (marked by a sign for the Eurogomma tyre place) it's very easy. Plenty of parking, friendly welcome and check-in, useful lift to the upper floors, nice big light room with beautiful views. "Great hotel, renovated a few years ago so in great condition - clean rooms, great location, quiet. short walk to town and awesome restaurant options. Make sure to reserve parking upfront as only have a few spaces. Lobelt breakfast. Excellent service - they helped recommend tours, places to eat, etc. We followed all recommendations and things were perfect. Thank you."

"We can’t recommend more highly Case dei Baff!! A must stay! The grounds are stunning and serene. Corrado and his family were incredibly welcoming and lovely. The food at their restaurant, from the cheese to the wine to the meat, are all sourced from their farm and vineyard. Our meal there was spectacular and unforgettable! We were grateful to be able to take home some of their wine and cheese with us. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you!"

"quite a long walk from train station ( 1 km) no taxis! but pretty well the closest. bar is also reception (which was great as I was desperate for a beer after bus substituted for train! efficient small lift, comfortable room with large comfy bed & plenty of electric plugs. quiet in room despite it being a Saturday, although restaurant full with waiting list. great well priced Italian meal (despite being promoted as Sushi - which was available -after a fashion)! slept well. It is actually located in Vezio right outside of Varenna. At first, I was concerned about the location from Varenna. However, Rita the proprietor made sure we had transportation from the train station as well as to and from all of our points of interest. We seriously wanted for nothing.
