"We loved our stay here. A beautiful, old style property with beautiful gardens, lovely old furnishings with lots of artwork on the walls. Phenomenal views from the rooftop area, which is sadly underutilized. Great lake views from many of the rooms. 20 minute walk into Stresa along a lovely walkway on the lake edge. Good breakfast as well. Highly recommended"

"Stanza non adeguata al livello dell’hotel. Umida e fredda, se si spegneva l’aria condizionata si bagnava il soffitto. Abbiamo dormito in lenzuola completamente umide. Dovevamo pernottare solo una notte, altrimenti avrei richiesto un cambio stanza. Disponibilità ma non troppa: abbiamo richiesto di poter lasciare l’auto nel parcheggio anche dopo il check-out ma ci è stato negato per l’arrivo di altri ospiti, peccato che il check-in è alle 15 e noi l’avremmo ripresa alle 14."

"We arrived at late night and the check in was easy via the kiosk. The night manager who let us inside the hotel was very helpful and so the service was excellent. With regards to amenities, we would have loved to have the chiller inside the room on a hot summer day. Overall, our stay was excellent and will look into booking again."

"We had come back from Lake Como and prefer Stresa 100% mainly due to location of hotel. Central for ferries and restaurants. Breakfast was very good but mostly the staff. They were all professional and very responsive."

"Spa avdelningen var väldigt fin med stor pool och olika bastu. Härligt att kunna simma ut. Saknade dock bubbelpool. Frukosten var bra, fina faciliteter med skåp för skidor och pjäxor med värme. Skidbuss till backen. Mycket trevligt hotell för skidåkning! "

"Good location, very friendly staffs, shuttle bus drivers are very helpful. Good breakfasts and good daily dinners menus. Nice balcony can watch Matthorn sunrise . Only a 3 minutes walk to the bridge for sunrise view. 5 minutes walk to Matthorn glacier paradise cable car station."

"Come here if you'd like to find out what great Italian home cooking tastes like. We had two diners here, and regret we didn't have more. The minestrone soup, lasagna and aubergine Parm are so fresh and refreshing, even though I'm used to the great Italian restaurants in Manhattan and Brooklyn. It's nice to have a comforting dinner overlooking the lake, after a day of sight seeing, and finishing with home made apple cake and ice cream or rum with chocolate."

"Room was very clean and quiet with good views. Breakfast also very good. The hotel has about 10 minutes walk, but we have an elderly, the hotel is uphill, did not know that. We didn’t know the hotel have a shuttle service (5CHF each person). Call hotel ahead to ask them pickup would be nice."

"I stay in big room was easy to for a 3 to four star hotel pretty worth the bill. It was nice to assemble and place things and hang them. The only down side is no refrigerator or some kind of cooler to place items for later use, no ice machine. The breakfast is what you can expect it was exceptional. The staff is real nice. The location is perfect city center easy to find yourself back."

We dined at Il Borromeo 3 times & none of our dishes were hot nor prepared as ordered. They came out of the kitchen too quickly after ordering so we gathered they...
