"Good food at reasonable prices . Pleasant and helpful staff. Good position for visiting lots of places. We had an enjoyable few days there would definitely go again if we were visiting that area again."

"Staff were brilliant I have had breakfast before and fantastic plenty to eat Bar. And outside area great lots of room Sad to say it all needs updating up stairs. All bathrooms need updating and decor and carpets need gone. Definitely the WiFi needs sorting out so you can get on it when you are in your room I wanted to chill out and watch Netflix but no internet Apart from that always a lovely stay and they accept dogs which is fab"

"Mark is super helpful. The bed in the family suite was really comfortable and the breakfast was decent, included cereals, fruit, tea, coffee, fruit juice and the usual cooked selection with toast. The family suite room is well positioned and has sea views from both windows. Bamburgh is easily walkable from the B&B and there are dining options close by. "I had high expectations of this hotel as it had recently won an excellence award, displayed in reception. I stayed in one of the lakeside cabins and it was as advertised, a beautiful hotel room on the water..the bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. The decorative pillows looked shabby due to clicks in the fabric and very creased. The large outside bath tub was pure luxury - you fill yourself with clean water, control the temperature and no chemicals.Well worn towelling robes are...

"It is such an unusual venue renovated by owners and a life’s achievement and still renovating- you have got to go to experience its uniqueness / great array of stuff for breakie and there is a Antique Centre run by Peters wife - a must!"

"Look, don't get me wrong, it's not terrible by any means. It's just that for a hotel that's trying to play at this level, it struggles with some of the basics. If you're having a short stay there's no housekeeping by default, (which they don't tell you when you arrive) but there's only a small (non-heated) towel rail, so you're going to have soggy towels on day 2. Yes, there was a (small) sign in reception saying this, but it's the kind of thing it would be good for the receptionist to...

"The pictures on the site do not represent the reality of this hotel. It’s currently very run down and in need of lots of work. We stayed for 3 nights, we only had 3 towels and although we asked for more twice, were not given any and they weren’t changed during our stay. The bathroom looked new but unfinished. There was nowhere to put shampoo etc. in the shower, the floor was slippy (I bought a rubber mat for them) the toilet flush was dodgy and neither the fan or light above the mirror worked....
