QT Canberra

QT Canberra

8/10 Good
"My room on the 11th floor had a great view, and I appreciated being able to open the windows and balcony door for fresh air. The room was clean, although everything felt a little tired and could use a refresh. The bed was very soft, worn and jiggly. I was exhausted enough to appreciate it, but anyone who prefers a firmer mattress may not. The pillow, however, was surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. Then there was the shower. The rainfall showerhead looked promising, but "rainfall" was ambitious. The water pressure was so low that water simply fell lazily from the showerhead with very little enthusiasm. Rinsing soap off, let alone shampoo and conditioner from long hair, became an endurance event. What should have been a 10-minute shower felt like I should have packed snacks and cleared my afternoon. The walls could also use better insulation. I’m normally a solid sleeper, but when I woke during the night, the walls were kind enough to introduce me to the guest next door’s snoring. Service was mixed. Check-in was warm and friendly; check-out came with noticeably more attitude. Overall, it was clean, the view was great and there were some definite positives, but the hotel feels tired and there are enough small annoyances to keep it firmly in the middle of the road. Average. Impressively, determinedly average."
