"What a great experience overall! My partner and I spent a week in the hotel, and it was wonderful. The staff were all super friendly and attentive, and the owner, Thomas, circulated throughout the property, greeting and chatting with regulars and newbies like us alike and making us feel right at home. The building, property, and rooms are beautiful! It's a historic building with beautiful dark wood and tile work. The rooms are bright and comfortable, the shower was huge, and the water gets HOT! The included breakfast was delicious, and I already miss the gallo pinto!! There's a pool with a jacuzzi (which we used almost nightly) and a gym (we didn't use it, but it is well appointed with a variety of exercise options). The location is great, too - right on the border of Barrio Amon and the city center, and just a few minutes walk to the Atlantic train station, with connections to Cartago and Heredia. Highly, highly recommended. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to San José! Thanks for everything!"
