A beautiful property that is a farm, vineyard and orchard. Everything we ate was delicious and the Carnivore dinner at the Old Bakery is a must. Do as many activities, that are included with your stay. Ask about their sister property that is a 18th century farm as well as the mountain pool. The farm/garden tour were very informative and the water buffalo outing is a must.
Fantastic place, a lot activities, very professional staff, always ready to help.Tasty food at Babylon, but menu to small. We stayed 5 days and getting lunch and dinner on 4 different courses is not OK.
Farm houses are build for a warm summer season. First house we stayed was just to cold. next day we moved to another house, which was much better.
It was our third time, bit longer this time
We enjoyed every day.
Amazing place, perfect ambiance, you really feel comfortable. Many exciting activities. Fantastic breakfast.
All planned to smallest detail.
Staff very engaged.
We are coming back.
Extraordinary place. If you have any love of gardens, horticulture, farm-to-table food, or just general wholesome living then you will enjoy it here. The gardens and farm are not a performance - at over 2000 acres and something like 700 staff they somehow manage to seamlessly blend luxury with genuine production, and the variety is extraordinary. There is true vision behind this project.

The hotel was overrun by day guests and not enough provision has made for the needs of hotel guests.
Service of the bar area at the lower pool was poor , but overall the staff was very friendly and willing to help.
The hotel is beautiful and the farm was gorgeous to walk/cycle around.
Breakfast service to get a cup of tea was a little slow occasionally, one day waited 30 mins before we got the tea, then milk and then sugar. The food was all beautifully presented.
We really enjoyed our stay but did not think it was good vfm.
Babylonstoren is like heaven on earth. It is so beautiful that you have to pinch yourself every day to make sure that you are not dreaming.
The staff are all amazing and they take such pride in the farm and the hotel. All of the food is locally sourced on the farm itself or nearby and the quality and freshness was unbelievable.
We were genuinely sad to leave and we promised that we would be back next year. If there is one place where you must stay in South Africa, then that is Babylonstoren - in fact it is probably the finest place we have stayed in our travels all over the world.

Disappointing
Our expectations were high of such a well know establishment. We found it first of all very crowded with day visitors everywhere. It was a rainy day and the result is that you can hardly walk to your room as nothing is paved. Our shoes were full of mud on arrival. Bathroom floor way too hot, very uncomfortable. Breakfast terrible. Bread is uncovered from 8 onwards, so if you arrive at 9 it’s all very dry. Fruit so big cut that it’s impossible to eat. Omelet was raw on the inside. Onion cut way too big and raw. We skipped the second nights breakfast and moved on to next destination. We definitely won’t return.
Exceptionnelle diversité d'activités, de lieux, d'ambiances, d'hébergements, au sein du même domaine.
Un "défaut" pour nous, français ne maîtrisant pas l'anglais couramment, toutes les visites sont exclusivement guidées en anglais.
the property is a working eco farm to table - amazing gardens, vineyards, fruit orchards, guests treated as house guests and all facilities made available without having to pay xtra. Beautiful rooms and clean, organic food.
Babylonstoren was one of the best experiences we've ever had. The service is exceptional and the surrounding areas breathtaking. We felt immediately relaxed when we arrived. The attention to detail was amazing and very thoughtful, down to his and hers rain boots. Everyone we encountered from the staff were so warm and friendly.
This is truly a farm-to-table experience with all the produce served at meals from their own gardens. There is so much to do from garden tours to afternoon drives, that we could have spent a whole week there. We can't wait to go back. Cannot recommend Babylonstoren enough.
Impressive property. Amazing food and breakfast experience. The gardens alone are a destination in itself. Beware that the suites section is closest to the country road (no noise issue at night but slightly as of early morning). The regular rooms are in the back of the property so this would be a more serene spot. I would have preferred feather pillows instead of those bulky synthetic stuffings. Service, interior, etc was excellent. Overall one of the very best experiences I have ever had because of the overall concept. I loves their early morning gardens tour and also the later one for hotel guests which gave it a nice exclusive touch.
This was the best place we stayed in Cape Town, and the Winelands. The lodging was wonderful, the carnivore dinner was spectacular. This was one of the more memorable things we did in our visit to S.A. and made our experience perfect.

Incredibly beautiful property with many activities. We only stayed one night and would love to come back for longer!
Beautiful place and amazing landscape. The only thing that disappointed us was the fact that we told the staff that we were vegans (considering the breakfasf and dinner) and they told us that they had a lot of options but they unfortunately did not have that when we arrived, kind of boring due to the price we paid for our stay. Otherwise lovely place!
