We stayed here as a one night stop over on way to Caribbean side. The staff was kind and and friendly. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfy. We felt safe and got a good nights rest. Free breakfast was yummy. Would recommend this hotel as a stop over

The rooms are clean. The staff is amazing. The food is excellent. The parking is safe and extremely secure. If you have dogs and get a room on the main level there's a great run for them to enjoy.

Hotel El Guarco rooms were very clean & comfortable. Staff were very helpful & kind. The linens & towels were so white & had a lovely clean fragrance. The incuded breakfasts wre truly amazing & presentation was impeccable! We could walk to numerous other retaurants or fast food establishments for dinner meals. We were there for 6 days, & would have enjoyed a pool & lounges to enhance our stay. But we made lounges out of the benches on the balcony, by adding pillows to recline on. Also, since located in a high traffic area, it was quite noisy day & night.

One of the only large hotels to stay in this area. Unfortunately it’s on a very busy road and traffic is heard 24/7. We enjoyed the Dinning a the staff was very helpful and nice. Parking felt secure as they allowed us to park within the alcove which had a gate and foot security. We stayed here for convenience but did not sleep well at all.

I recently stayed at Hotel El Guarco in Cartago for three nights with my partner and my service dog, and once again, it was an outstanding experience. This isn’t our first time staying here, and every time, the service gets better. The staff is always incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel very welcome. The delicious breakfast included with our stay is always a highlight—there’s a great variety, and everything is fresh and flavorful. It’s also a bonus that some of the staff speak English, which makes communication easy and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area—whether for business or leisure. We’ll definitely be back!

Super cute hotel , you park right in front of your door in a little courtyard in the back . The beds were good , great water pressure. Only negative I would say would be the light that gets in early in the morning front to the top of the font door from the window . Otherwise very nice staff and place for the price close to a supermarket and restaurants

The Staff in all areas is very friendly and do their best to provide great service. For instance, the staff in the restaurant was very accommodating on our dietary needs, since my family is allergic to gluten and dairy products. Since the day we visit it was breakfast buffet, they helped us to cook some eggs for us to avoid cross contamination. The only thing that we noticed is that the hotel is could be a little noisy, as is quite close to the main street. (which at the same time is convenient for easy access).

For a transit a perfect place to stay!

It was a one night transit stay. The stuff was great. Very helpful, even with me just speaking a little Spanish. The room was clean, except some hair in the linen and the light in the bathroom. Dead flies in the light bulbs makes the bathroom very dark. Something to complain about is the misleading description at Expedia. The reception opening time is longer than 4 pm! The since of the Junior Suite is far away from 90m2! It's a regular room with a sofa.
