"Had read good reviews of this hotel, so decided to book and it was great. Was only here 1 night, but would definitely stay again. Bedroom & bathroom clean and comfortable and a nice comfy bed too. Dinner was great as was breakfast next morning. Staff all friendly, welcoming and helpful. Easy parking either in dedicated patron’s car park or on street. Great location for exploring the area and Castle Douglas itself is a nice town with lots of independent businesses and plenty cafes, delis...

"Cosy retreat, away from the hustle and bustle. Simplistic but everything we needed. Beautiful walks. Great and safe for our elderly dog who enjoyed the freedom. Good location to visit lochs etc."

"Overnight stay. Due to our own problems could not check in arriving after 12mn very good instructions to gain entry and directions to room. Breakfast made to order delicious and plentiful. Hotel is tierd in places but room was modern obviously newly updated. Bed very comfortable family are improving areas all the time. Well worth a visit if you are coming to Castle Douglas."

"We enjoyed our stay very much. We enjoyed the conversations we had with our hosts, Esther and Ian, both of whom when out of their way to welcome us and help us. We especially enjoyed walking from the B&B to Threave Castle and exploring the nature preserve. We were traveling without a car and had no problem getting to the property by bus."
