Via Caronda was rather shabby but we never felt unsafe in the area - Via Etnea was just around the corner with buses to the city centre and a useful 24 hour coffee kiosk/bar on the corner of the square. Our room was clean and comfortable with good air-conditioning and a small fridge. The garden was lovely to sit and unwind before heading out to one of the nearby restaurants and to enjoy breakfast....
