Stunning property and an unbeatable location!
We had a fantastic stay here! You absolutely cannot beat the location, it was perfect for walking around and exploring everything in Český Krumlov.
The property itself is absolutely stunning and added so much charm to our visit. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for the perfect base in the city!
Very clean and comfortable. Good price for what you got. Very close to everything (although that isn't hard when staying in the old town). Perfect for a one night stopover in Český Krumlov.
I loved the early check in time and the ability to leave my bag. The hotel is in the prefect location to walk everywhere! Once my room was ready it was very clean, spacious, cool and comfortable. I also really loved the price! I just took a day trip from Prague and I'm so happy I stayed here! If we ever come back to Cesky Krumlov we'd definitely stay again!
I loved ❤️ this place and I am going back! In the hart of town. Waking up every morning and getting out of the door seeing the castle tower was treat😃

The property is centrally located right in the middle of the old town however there is a climb of steps to get to the hotel. Unfortunately there was no on-site parking and the parking lot was located approximately 8 to 10 minutes uphill on cobblestones streets. Very difficult if you have luggage. Paid extra for offsite Parking approximately $15CDN/day.
I paid extra to upgrade my room to the Comfort room, unfortunately this space was located below ground level. The room itself was beautiful with a rustic old world charm. However, there was a such a musty damp smell I couldn’t stay there. It was unbearable.
I did contact the hotel and asked to be moved to a room above ground and they accommodated the request. The new room was ok but much smaller. I was not offered a discount or rebate for the smaller room.
On check out my husband drove the car up to the hotel to load the luggage because it was so heavy. Many other cars were doing the same. A lady was in her window screaming, shaky her finger at him. When we came out with the bags in less than 5 minutes, she was waiting by the car. She immediately began questioning us, asking who we were and demanding to know which hotel we were staying in. We found her behavior intimidating, confrontational, and completely unnecessary, especially given that we were simply loading our luggage like many other guests in the area.
I would not stay there again
This is an aesthetic location giving off castle vibes in an elevated position of the old city. The property preserves the ancient brick architecture but adds modern conveniences and an updated bathroom. The beds are simple but comfortable, especially with large and soft pillows. A hot water kettle and free instant coffee and tea packets provide guests a way to warm their hands on a brisk morning in July while taking in a view of a castle tower and breathing in some of the cleanest air the world has to offer.
Its a very nice room, the bathroom is bit cramped, but the bedroom's are sizable. Downside is that the building is right off a cobbled, public stairway. So hauling luggage can be a challenge. It also can be noisy at times.
No person available on property even when checked in during the specified hours was a surprise and inconvenient to us. It was all remote handling, but a different experience.
After that the Parking instruction and distance also was a bit of tideaous since we were unprepared.
All the same, after this 'treasure hunt', the tasks are just the flip side of the 'all you can walk cobble stone paths' old town charm, with sudden fork of lanes at your face, at every hundred steps.
Most convenient location in terms of x, y and also z axis. I mean the elevation is already half gained, so the main tower of the castle is easy to reach. So is a bridge across the canal.
Overall, it is a nice stay and rustic experience.
Improvement? = Please keep coffee, sugar and creamer satchets separately.
Thanks
POSITIVES:
- room very nice and modern
- location (right in the old town)
- host very responsive to emails
- able to store luggage
- towel warmer that actually worked
- lots of electrical outlets and heaters
- housekeeping service
NEGATIVES:
- The room itself was very beautiful. However, it was below ground and therefore quite musty when you walk in. As a person allergic to mold/must, had I known I'd be in a basement, I would not have stayed here. It was also dark with little natural light.
- it would have been nice to have someone greet me/help orientate me to the city upon my arrival. Or have some printed maps/tourist info available.
- shower floor is very slippery.
- considering we are into low season, price was a bit high (although that may be due to Expedia's fees).
SUGGESTION: A microwave would make a nice addition. Non-slip mat for shower.
Really nice place with friendly accommodating staff. I really enjoyed my stay there, and even extended it a few days. I would definitely stay there again.
